woodland-village
Woodland Village

Woodland Village is a 12-piece bamboo block set shaped like little houses and trees, made for imaginative building play in kids ages 3 and up. The illustrated pieces feature a deer, a bear, a squirrel, a bird, and details like windows, doors and trees, and the set doubles as a display piece when play is done for the day.

Each block is 0.75 inches thick and ranges from 2.25 to 5.5 inches tall. The set comes with a sturdy wooden box that keeps the pieces together for cleanup and makes the set easy to carry along. The box itself measures 9.75 x 11 x 1.125 inches. The bamboo is harvested in a way that does not kill the plant, so the material regenerates rather than requiring the tree to be cut down.

Key Features

Bamboo house and tree shaped blocks for building and imaginative play

12-piece illustrated block set

Includes a sturdy wooden keepsake box for storage and travel

Illustrations depict a deer, bear, squirrel, bird and woodland details like windows, doors and trees

Bamboo is harvested without killing the plant

TrustScore

TrustScore is Birch's proprietary rating, from 0 to 100, built from 50+ signals that reflect what actually matters to parents — safety, materials, recalls, certifications and quality. Here's our research:

Magnet & Small-Part Safety — 79/100
This is a non-magnetic bamboo block set, so 16 CFR 1262 magnet rules do not apply; the relevant safety question is small-parts age fit, which is addressed by the Ages 3+ label and the pieces' large dimensions, but no small-parts warning language is included on the product.

Build Quality & Tolerance — 84/100
The set features sturdy and high-quality construction without any method or third-party testing behind that claim; the single customer review calls the pieces solid and appreciates the quality, which is a real but very thin data point for this specific set.

Material & Finish Safety — 87/100
The brand names a specific finish practice for its rubberwood/bamboo toys as water-based and nontoxic, but this claim is published at the brand's wooden-toy-material level rather than being stated specifically for the Woodland Village bamboo pieces.

Toy Safety Compliance — 79/100
We found a brand-wide compliance claim naming CPSIA testing for phthalates, lead and soluble metals, but ASTM F963 is never named and no certificate is published for this block set specifically. Wee Gallery is an identifiable, retail-distributed manufacturer, so non-publication of a CPC is normal industry practice.

Age Grading & Choking Safety — 91/100
The Woodland Village listing consistently labels the set Ages 3+ on the brand's own page, and the pieces (2.25 to 5.5 inches tall, 0.75 inches thick) are sized well above small-parts choking dimensions for that age grading. A customer review confirms use with an almost-3-year-old without incident.

Recall History — 92/100
We queried the CPSC recall registry directly and found two records for this brand: a 2024 voluntary phthalate recall on a plastic-coated art card product and a 2021 voluntary recall of wooden tray puzzles for breakage risk. Neither covers the Woodland Village bamboo block line, both were voluntary with no injuries reported.

Certification Credibility — 84/100
We found only a brand-wide claim of CPSIA compliance and US/UKCA certification with no certificate number, named lab, or test method, and it is not tied specifically to this bamboo block set. A cited GOTS certification applies to a fabric factory, not this wooden/bamboo toy.

Transparency & Support — 84/100
The brand discloses that rubberwood/bamboo toys are made in a small family-owned factory and finished with water-based nontoxic stains, but does not publish the country of manufacture, a supplier name, or warranty terms for this specific block set.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0675/0761/7858/files/woodland-village-wooden-house-and-trees-blocks-toy-decoration-play-set-2.jpg?v=1790035298
