This set is sold with ASTM and EN71 test reports under its own SKU, and a parent who read those results reported the measured lead and chromium III figures for PlanToys parts — lead usually between 1 and 3.5 mg/kg — which the company told her sat within permissible limits. The reports carry no visible issue date or version, the figures reach a reader only through that parent's account, and CPSIA third-party testing is not separately named.

PlanToys grades this set at 18 months and up, while US retail listings for the same set carry a small-parts choking warning and label it 3 years and up, with one specialist retailer sending under-3 shoppers to a separate, toddler-sized PlanToys fruit and vegetable set instead. The age grade is the central claim here, and the brand's own listing carries no small-parts warning even though the fruit halves separate at hook-and-loop joints.

We queried the full CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records from June 1973 to August 2026 — and found a single PlanToys entry: a 2017 recall of roughly 500 baby gyms whose side rope crossbars posed a strangulation risk, remedied with a free replacement gym and with no injuries reported. That sits in a different product category from this play-food set, and nothing further has been filed in the nine years since.

PlanToys asserts ASTM (USA) and EN71 (Europe) safety compliance for its finished toys, and ASTM and EN71 test reports are offered for this set under its own SKU; the company also holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and SA 8000 at company level. It states plainly that it is not FSC certified because it uses reclaimed plantation rubberwood rather than forest wood; no certificate numbers are published and the testing laboratory is not named.
