Características clave

Certificaciones

    • GOTS Certified Organic

Certified by Global Organic Textile Standard

GOTS certification verifies that a textile product's organic fibre content and its full processing supply chain meet defined organic, environmental and social criteria.

    What it checks

    • Confirms fibres used are certified organic (e.g. cotton, wool, hemp, silk, linen)
    • Checks chemical inputs, wastewater treatment and environmental management during processing
    • Verifies human rights and social due-diligence criteria across the supply chain
    • Requires traceability, annual on-site audits and transaction-based checks at every processing stage

What it does not cover This certification addresses organic fibre content, processing chemicals and supply-chain conditions; it is not a general product safety, flammability, or choking-hazard test.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

85 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Sole & Upper Chemistry 84

The upper is named as 100% organic cotton corduroy with a canvas sole, but no tanning method applies here, no sole polymer chemistry is disclosed, and no yarn certification or test method is given for the finished shoe beyond a general APMA developmental seal.

Foot-Development Fit 84

A printed footwear size chart maps foot length in inches/cm to age ranges, and reviewers independently describe the flat canvas sole as good for foot-muscle development, but the brand does not state sole flexibility or pre-walker vs. first-walker stage guidance.

Textile Certification 87

The organic cotton certification on file carries a certificate number, but it is scoped to cotton clothing and is not disclosed as covering footwear. The bootie's own materials carry no named textile certification, only an APMA developmental seal unrelated to GOTS or OEKO-TEX.

Recall History 92

We queried the complete CPSC recall database and found no record of Pehr at any date, confirmed against product classes the corpus does cover. Separately, Health Canada recorded a flammability recall of Pehr sleepwear (not footwear), voluntarily remedied with no injuries reported.

Certification Credibility 85

The organic cotton used across the line carries a certificate number, but that number is tied to cotton textiles generally and is not disclosed as covering this footwear item. A blanket claim that all baby and children's products are third-party tested names no lab or report.

Chemical Finish Avoidance 79

The bootie is a 100% organic cotton corduroy item with no marketing language suggesting wrinkle-resistant, easy-care, or water/stain-repellent treatment, and the brand publishes AZO-free dye use for its printed cotton goods, but no explicit no-treatment declaration is made for this item.

Stay-On Security 91

The elastic pull-on opening is named as the retention design, and a very consistent, large review corpus corroborates that the booties stay on securely during crawling and walking, with the elastic sitting behind the lining rather than against skin.

Transparency & Support 84

Pehr discloses that its manufacturing partners take part in SEDEX and SMETA social-compliance audits, but publishes no country of manufacture and no warranty terms for this product.

Hardware & Print Safety 77

This bootie has no snaps, buttons, zips or printed graphics, but it is a dyed cotton corduroy garment, and the dye chemistry behind its color is not addressed anywhere for footwear, though AZO-free dyeing is described for other Pehr cotton goods.

Wash & Wear Durability 85

Care instructions (machine wash cold, gentle cycle, no bleach, low tumble dry) are published, and the booties are well made and durable through wear, though no result on wash-cycle count or sole-separation testing is given.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Customers frequently describe the booties as soft, warm, and well made, often praising the corduroy texture.
Many reviewers say the elastic opening keeps the booties securely on their baby's feet, unlike socks or other shoes that fall off.
Several reviewers note the booties run a bit large, so babies may grow into them after a few months.
A few customers mention the soles are slippery on hard flooring like wood or tile, which can be a concern for early walkers.
A couple of reviewers felt the booties did not keep feet very warm and lacked cushioning underfoot, requiring thick socks.

Lovely quality, stay on securely, perfect job.

My son wore these for his 3 month photos but I think they're going to be great to have all winter. Very cute and comfortable and flexible to be worn with dressier outfits or more casual.
Megan
I love these little booties. They go really well with matching overalls or other cute baby/toddler clothes too. They are soft and warm. Perfect for these colder days as slippers too.
Gabrielle C.
These booties are very cute but they run a bit large. They also do not keep the babies feet warm. There is not much of a supporting bottom in them. We wear really thick socks with them.
Yaryna G
As far as esthetics these booties are darling! They look adorable on my daughter. However after putting these on her she was slipping all over the house. She’s an early walker at ten months old and these aren’t safe. We have terracotta tile and these shoes have no grip on the soles which is extremely disappointing. She can wear them on concrete or a rougher surface but anything slick and she topples right over. Please make these with more practical soles! Such a bummer.
