Características clave

Certificaciones

    • GOTS Certified Organic

Certified by Global Organic Textile Standard

GOTS certification verifies that a textile product's organic fibre content and its full processing supply chain meet defined organic, environmental and social criteria.

    What it checks

    • Confirms fibres used are certified organic (e.g. cotton, wool, hemp, silk, linen)
    • Checks chemical inputs, wastewater treatment and environmental management during processing
    • Verifies human rights and social due-diligence criteria across the supply chain
    • Requires traceability, annual on-site audits and transaction-based checks at every processing stage

What it does not cover This certification addresses organic fibre content, processing chemicals and supply-chain conditions; it is not a general product safety, flammability, or choking-hazard test.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

    Read the official standard

    • OEKO-TEX Certified

    Certified by OEKO-TEX (Standard 100)

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certifies that every component of a textile item has been lab-tested and found free of harmful substances above set limits.

    What it checks

    • Testing of yarn, fabric, buttons, and other accessories against a list of over 1,000 regulated substances
    • Stricter chemical limits for products with more intensive skin contact, including a dedicated infant/toddler product class
    • Compliance with chemical regulations such as REACH, CPSIA, and the ECHA-SVHC candidate list
    • Annual review of substance limit values and one-year validity per certificate

What it does not cover It tests for chemical residues only and does not certify general product safety features like choking hazards, flammability, or mechanical construction.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

88 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Construction Integrity 90

This bear's eyes, nose and mouth are embroidered rather than glued or clipped on, the more secure attachment method for a mouthing-age plush, and this is stated directly for this product. No detachable accessories are described.

Toy Safety Compliance 90

The safety eyes on this plush are certified non-toxic and tested to ASTM F963 and EN71 standards, and all toys are stated to be mandatorily tested and adherent to governmental safety standards in the US, Australia, Canada and Europe. No certificate or lab report is published alongside these claims.

Fabric & Fill Chemical Safety 92

The fabric is 100% GOTS certified organic cotton, filled with organic cotton and hypoallergenic corn fiber, and dyed with OEKO-TEX 100 eco-friendly, low-impact azo-free dyes, with full fiber and fill content disclosed for this specific product. No certificate number is published and no flammability test result specific to this stuffed toy is cited.

Age Grading & Choking Safety 77

No age grade is published for this plush, and no small-parts warning is stated for it either.

Recall History 92

We queried the complete CPSC recall database going back to 1973 for this brand. One match surfaced: a 2013 recall of Apple Park children's loungewear for a flammability-standard violation. That recall is over a decade old, involved a different product category than this plush, and nothing has recurred since across more than a decade of records.

Sleep & Age Marketing Honesty 79

This bear makes no crib, sleep or bedtime claim of its own, and a sibling version reaches retail as a baby shower, newborn or first-birthday gift. A minimum age printed for this bear, and a note keeping soft toys out of a baby's sleep space before twelve months, are what is missing beside its material and construction detail.

Washability & Durability 90

Care instructions for this category of soft toy are published specifically for organic soft toys without a waggling or musical unit, which this plush is: machine wash cold, tumble dry low, no bleach, no iron.

Certification Credibility 92

The plush is made with 100% GOTS certified organic cotton, and its dyes are OEKO-TEX 100 eco-friendly fabric dyes, both named specifically for this finished product. No certificate or licence numbers are published for either claim.

Transparency & Support 85

The materials are published — organic cotton shell, organic cotton and corn-fiber fill, low-impact azo-free dyes. The manufacturing country is disclosed as China, but the specific factory or supplier is not named.
