TrustScore breakdown

85 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Airway & Positioning Safety 88

The airway instructions cover the substance of TICKS: monitor newborns so the chin stays off the chest and the airway stays open, keep baby's face visible and the head close enough to kiss, check that all knots are secure before wearing, and bend at the knee so baby stays upright. The design is an open tie wrap rather than a bag-style sling, and the marketed configurations are front and hip carries between 8 and 33 lbs with no forward-facing-out carry offered. That guidance is written for wraps, slings and carriers as a family rather than scoped to this wrap, and no compliance or test evidence to the applicable ASTM carrier standard is published.

Safety Standard Compliance 78

No mandatory standard is named for this wrap — neither ASTM F2236 for soft carriers nor ASTM F2907 / 16 CFR 1228 for slings — and no children's product certificate or JPMA certification is published. The manufacturer is identifiable (Thrive International, Inc., Chico, California) and usage and safety-check guidance is published, so what is missing is the compliance trail specifically.

Hip-Healthy Design 84

Hip support appears only as a general claim: baby is held in a natural hold that mimics being carried in your arms, with hips, spine and neck fully supported across front and hip carries from 8 to 33 lbs. What is missing is everything that would make it checkable — no M-position or knee-to-knee wording, no seat-width measurement for the newborn carry, and no International Hip Dysplasia Institute Hip Healthy designation for any of the marketed positions.

Carrier Textile Chemistry 81

The wrap is 100% cotton with no foam padding and no hardware, which removes the foam-certification question entirely, but it is sold in dyed and licensed printed colourways with nothing published about the dyes, formaldehyde or restricted azo compounds. No finished-product textile certification is named, and "hypo-allergenic" is the only chemical-safety wording offered for fabric held against newborn skin for hours.

Recall History 97

We queried the complete CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — for Moby as manufacturer, importer or retailer and found no record at any date. Controls run against the same corpus return hundreds of hits for adjacent juvenile classes such as cribs and strollers, so the clean result reflects the brand's absence rather than a class the register does not cover.

Structural Load Integrity 91

The limits are stated plainly — 8 to 33 lbs, front or hip carry, 4.9 m of 100% cotton — and there are no buckles, rings or webbing at all, so the hardware failure modes that make second-hand carriers risky are absent by construction, with a 2-year warranty behind it. Across roughly 150 parent accounts we found no reports of seam separation or torn fabric, though several describe the cotton stretching out with wear; no tensile, seam or load testing is published.

Textile & Foam Chemistry 81

The wrap is a single piece of 100% cotton with no foam, hard plastic or coated fabric, so the flame-retardant and stain-repellent risks this criterion targets largely do not arise by construction. Beyond that fibre content the only chemistry wording is "hypo-allergenic", and no PFAS-free or flame-retardant-free declaration, dye screening or heavy-metal result is published — cotton on its own tells a shopper nothing about what was or was not applied to it.

Certification Credibility 76

No certification, named lab or test standard is published for this wrap — no finished-product textile certification, no children's product certificate, no test method. The nearest thing to a chemical-safety statement is that the fabric is 100% hypo-allergenic cotton, a term with no test, threshold or issuer behind it.

Transparency & Support 90

The wrap carries a 2-year warranty and its fibre content is given as 100% cotton. The country of manufacture and the fabric mill are not published.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Some customers say the carrier is comfortable and their baby settles quickly, with one noting their child falls asleep within minutes.
Other reviewers describe discomfort during wear, including shoulder pain and a feeling that the fabric lacks support.

I have a Babybjorn carrier and wanted something more comfortable for myself and my son. I tried another brand material carrier and it didn’t work very well and my son didn’t like it. I just bought this Moby carrier and it was been amazing. I can’t believe I’ve been without it this long! My son is so comfortable and usually falls asleep within 10 mins.

So happy with this carrier! Comfy and cozy for my little one. Also very aesthetically pleasing for the mom fit.

I’ve had this carrier since my baby was 4 months old she is now 8 months (19lbs) and this has been the most uncomfortable wrap I’ve tried so far. The straps hurt my shoulders so bad after just a few min of wearing and it’s hard to put on without help especially with a squirmy baby. I also feel like the fabric is not very supportive I wish I hadn’t wasted the money on this one and I wish I hadn’t lost my receipt so I could return it I loved the original moby wrap just this one is not it

I bought this carrier a week ago and I wanted to love it. But it doesn’t really adjust the way it’s advertised for me. We baby wear a LOT with a toddler running around also, so I was really hopeful for a better option than my wrap or the buckle carrier I already have. If I were smaller it might be better, but as a size large-xl mom it just isn’t a great fit. It is easier to use than a wrap and a bit cooler for baby, but not by much to make it worth it for me to keep it.
