Características clave

Certifications

    • GOTS Certified Organic

Certified by Global Organic Textile Standard

GOTS certification verifies that a textile product's organic fibre content and its full processing supply chain meet defined organic, environmental and social criteria.

    What it checks

    • Confirms fibres used are certified organic (e.g. cotton, wool, hemp, silk, linen)
    • Checks chemical inputs, wastewater treatment and environmental management during processing
    • Verifies human rights and social due-diligence criteria across the supply chain
    • Requires traceability, annual on-site audits and transaction-based checks at every processing stage

What it does not cover This certification addresses organic fibre content, processing chemicals and supply-chain conditions; it is not a general product safety, flammability, or choking-hazard test.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

    Read the official standard

    • Fair Trade Certified

Certified by Fair Trade USA / Fairtrade International

Fair Trade Certified verifies that a product's supply chain met third-party standards for farmer/worker treatment and trade practices, such as fair pricing and safe conditions.

    What it checks

    • Third-party certification of farmers, workers, and supply chains across 30+ product categories
    • Standards addressing fair pricing, wages, and working conditions for producers
    • Verification and traceability of certified supply chains through Fair Trade USA's programs

What it does not cover This certification addresses labor and trade practices in the supply chain; it does not test or certify the safety, quality, or materials of the finished product itself.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

87 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Attachment & Small-Parts Security 84

The bow is clip-mounted rather than glued or beaded, but whether the bow is stitched to its clip base and whether any pull-strength or small-parts testing was performed is not stated.

Textile Certification 87

The GOTS license (IDFL 010673 / GOTS-26390) is held at the brand and facility level and its certified product categories include carried accessories, but it is not a certificate issued for this specific bow clip. OEKO-TEX is referenced elsewhere by the brand without a number tied to this item.

Sleep & Unsupervised-Wear Guidance 77

Nothing addresses removing hair clips for sleep or unattended wear, and no supervision guidance of any kind is published for this product.

Recall History 97

We queried the complete CPSC recall database, covering 1973 to 2026, with a control confirming the product class is indexed, and found no recall record for this brand in any role.

Certification Credibility 95

GOTS certificate GOTS-26390 (IDFL client number 010673) resolves in the GOTS certified-suppliers database for Modn Made LLC, doing business as Makemake Organics, certified by IDFL Laboratory and Institute and valid to 2027-09-17. The record covers the brand's operation and its babies' apparel, toys and accessories categories rather than naming this item.

Chemical Finish Avoidance 91

No azo dyes, flame retardants, PFAS, phthalates or formaldehyde are present, and the care instructions call for cool ironing with no mention of any wrinkle-resistant or stain-repellent finish.

Textile & Dye Chemistry 91

The bow is made of 100% cotton twill fabric with azo-free, non-toxic, eco-friendly dyes, and the brand's GOTS certification covers carried accessories as a category.

Transparency & Support 84

The country of manufacture (India) and design location (Florida) are disclosed, but no warranty terms or spare-parts/repair route for this accessory are published anywhere we found.

Hardware & Print Safety 84

Azo-free, non-toxic dyes are stated for this garment, but the print method is not named, no test method or result backs the dye claim, and nothing is published on the metal content of any closures.

Wash & Shape Durability 84

Care instructions are published (gentle machine wash, no bleach, cool iron, low tumble dry) but no wash-tolerance testing or shape-retention result is given for this specific clip.
