CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

82 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Attachment Security 77

No mount system, rated load, or compatible frame shapes are described for the footmuff anywhere in its listing, and no independent review of its attachment security under load exists.

Accessory Material Chemistry 77

We found no page naming the footmuff's fabric or stating PFAS-free or PVC-free for its shell or lining, and no Prop 65 statement tied to this accessory. The brand's general fabric safety claims are about car seats and strollers, not this footmuff.

Safety Standard Compliance 79

Orbit Baby names its Baby Safety Alliance (JPMA) certification program and CPSIA tracking-label compliance across eligible products, but no certificate number or test result specific to this footmuff accessory is published.

Recall History 92

We queried the complete CPSC recall database (10,053 records, 1973-2026) and found no record naming Orbit Baby, against a corpus that does cover strollers, cribs and toys. A 2013 base installation recall exists but covers a different product line (car seat base) and was voluntary, with no injuries and a free repair kit offered.

Textile & Foam Chemistry 86

The Oeko-Tex certified fabric claim we found is published for the Orbit Baby canopy and footmuff bundle sold through a third-party retailer, and separately for the G5 stroller seat, but we found no Oeko-Tex or PFAS-free statement specific to this standalone Black footmuff.

Certification Credibility 92

Orbit Baby states eligible products carry the Baby Safety Alliance (formerly JPMA) Verified Seal, with independent lab sample-testing and annual retesting covering ASTM standards, federal/state law and chemical limits including lead, phthalates and flame retardants - a named certification asserted for the finished product line.

Reachable Small Parts 77

No statement addresses whether the footmuff's adjustable apron, leg-opening fasteners or any trim pieces are secured against detachment within a seated child's reach, and no independent inspection of this is available.

Transparency & Support 91

Orbit Baby publishes a concrete two-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, with stated exclusions (non-approved accessories, products bought before 2019 or outside the G5 series) and a defined claims process, plus a manuals library for assembly and use. Country of manufacture and supplier are not published.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Customers describe the footmuff as cozy, warm, and well made, with thick, sturdy material that performs well in cold weather.
Several reviewers mention it is easy to install, adjust, and clean, and like that it grows with the child via an extendable compartment.
Many customers feel the footmuff is worth the price for the warmth and convenience it provides during cold-weather outings.

This feels so cosy and warm, with thick material and solid construction. Looking forward to using it in winter!

Would buy this over and over again! Best investment for keeping bany warm and still enjoying the outdoors in colder weather. I love the vintage look as well. What’s awesome too is it grows with baby. Hidden compartment that extends the footmuff for growing children. I would love a footmuff for the carseats to keep child warm while transporting and riding in car in winter months. The zipper on both sides are easy to adjust to keep baby comfortable, not to cold and not to hot. I bought the black and goes well with ours and any color.

All I can say is worth every penny. I was going back and forth with myself about this purchase but after constantly picking up the blanket my son kicked off himself I knew I had to get it. I absolutely love it and its convenience (easy to install, adjust and clean) . Only regret is not buying it sooner.
