Certifications

  • GREENGUARD Gold

    Certified by UL Solutions

GREENGUARD Gold certifies that a product has been tested by UL Solutions and meets strict limits on chemical (VOC) emissions into indoor air.

    What it checks

    • Lab testing of chemical emissions against limits for more than 360 VOCs plus total chemical emissions
    • Meets stricter emission limits than standard GREENGUARD, intended for sensitive settings like nurseries and schools
    • Compliance with California Section 01350 chamber testing method for VOC emissions
    • Manufacturing process review and routine re-testing to confirm ongoing compliance

What it does not cover It measures air emissions from the product, not general product safety, physical/mechanical hazards, choking risk, or compliance with toy or baby-product safety regulations.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

  • FSC Certified

    Certified by Forest Stewardship Council

FSC certification traces wood and paper-based materials in a product back through the supply chain to forests managed under FSC's standards.

    What it checks

    • Chain of custody tracking of wood/fibre from certified forests through manufacturing
    • Forest management practices checked against FSC standards (100%, Recycled, or Mix sourcing labels)
    • Auditing of certificate holders and monitoring of forest management organizations
    • Traceability tools such as blockchain-based tracking of certified material

What it does not cover This label addresses forest sourcing and traceability of wood/paper materials; it does not test or certify the safety, chemical content, or performance of a finished product.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

88 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Frame Material & Adhesive 87

The Yuzu's main frame is solid New Zealand pine, but the bassinet and midi mattress supports are TSCA-compliant engineered wood, a component rather than the full finished frame, and no adhesive chemistry is disclosed for that engineered piece.

Finish Type 84

The finish is non-toxic, lead- and phthalate-safe, and formaldehyde levels are stated as undetectable, but the finish chemistry itself is never named as water-based, low-VOC or otherwise on this product's own page, and no test method is given.

Sleep-Product Compliance 79

The applicable federal standards for full-size cribs, ASTM F1169 and 16 CFR 1219, are named and the crib is stated to exceed slat-strength minimums, but no Children's Product Certificate is published for this specific model.

Recall History 92

We queried the CPSC recall register and found one open recall on record for this brand: a USB port overheating hazard on the Kiwi Electronic Recliner Glider, a different product category (gliders, not cribs) from the crib being scored. Because it does not cover this crib, it sits in the brand's record but does not pull this bar down; no recall has ever touched Babyletto's crib line.

Structural Standard Compliance 91

Each slat is stated to withstand at least 135 lbs against an 80 lb minimum, and the crib is built to ASTM F1169 and 16 CFR 1219, the correct full-size crib standard for this convertible design.

Certification Credibility 92

The Yuzu crib carries GREENGUARD Gold certification tested against over 10,000 chemical emissions, named explicitly for this finished product, with no licence number published. An independent lab review separately verified the same GREENGUARD Gold certification on a sibling Babyletto crib using the same testing program.

Emissions & Off-Gassing 92

The Yuzu crib is GREENGUARD Gold certified, tested for over 10,000 chemical emissions and VOCs on the finished product, a claim an independent lab review corroborates for a sibling Babyletto crib using the same certification program.

Wood Sourcing (FSC) 91

The Yuzu's New Zealand pine is stated to come from well-managed, FSC-certified forests, naming both the certification and the sourcing region for the finished crib, though no licence code is published.

Transparency & Support 91

The crib's country of manufacture is disclosed as Vietnam, and a concrete one-year warranty against manufacturing defects is published, with a replacement-parts route available for repairs.

Material Disclosure Depth 85

The crib's frame is named as New Zealand pine, and the mattress supports are disclosed as TSCA-compliant engineered wood, but no adhesive system or finish-layer breakdown is given beyond that, leaving component-level detail incomplete.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Many customers describe the crib as beautifully made, sturdy, and easy to assemble across its bassinet, midi, and crib stages.
Several reviewers appreciate that the crib grows with their child and say it was worth the investment for long-term use across multiple stages.
Some customers report the caster wheels on the bassinet and midi stages feel cheap, are loud, or get stuck.
A recurring complaint is that the wood finish scratches easily, with some reviewers noting the surface looked like a veneer or arrived already scratched.
A few reviewers felt the crib became less sturdy once assembled in the full-crib stage, describing it as flimsy with loosening bolts.
One reviewer found the included bassinet mattress too thin and felt it lacked support for a newborn.
Despite the price, many reviewers feel the crib's quality and multi-stage versatility make it worth the cost.

So well made and very practical love it!

We love this bed so much that we ended up buying a second one for our younger baby. It’s incredibly versatile, working beautifully from birth all the way through the toddler years—honestly, we don’t expect to need another bed until around age five. Assembly was straightforward, and the design is a standout. The frame feels sturdy yet stylish, and the overall look is modern and clean. We chose the sage color for our son, and it pairs perfectly with the wood furniture in his room. A practical, long-lasting, and great-looking choice—we couldn’t be happier with it.

A "One-stop-shopping-crib" that is high quality and can be adapted to fit the size of your baby as he/she grows larger..

I bought this crib for my first baby and liked it so much that I purchased the same one again for my second. My kids are only 13 months apart, so we have used the bassinet feature a lot. Unfortunately, the wheels on the bassinet are horrible. They feel like the cheapest possible quality. The wheels constantly get stuck or twist sideways so they end up perpendicular to the direction you are trying to move it. Instead of rolling smoothly, it jerks and drags. It drives me crazy. I often move the bassinet from our bedroom to the living room so the baby can stay with us while he sleeps, but the movement is so rough that it wakes him up almost every time. Anyone with a newborn knows how frustrating that is. For a product that otherwise works well, the wheel quality is a huge disappointment. If the wheels rolled smoothly, this would be a great product, but right now it makes something simple like moving a sleeping baby unnecessarily difficult.

After unboxing the crib, we noticed there were multiple dents and scratches which is very disappointing. The quality looks very cheap.
