Each carry comes with a stage rule: front-facing-out and hip carry only from six months with strong, consistent head control; back carry from six months with a written instruction to move a sleeping child to a front carry so head and neck stay supported; and a padded head support that folds up for young infants and down once neck control is established. This is a structured panel carrier rather than a bag-style sling, and it complies with ASTM F2236-16a for soft infant and toddler carriers.

The carrier is rated hip-healthy by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute and the seat widens to keep the legs supported knee-to-knee as the child grows, but that designation covers five of the six marketed carries: the newborn fetal carry, where the legs are curled up inside the panel rather than in the M-position, is not a carry the IHDI recommends, and two independent babywearing reviewers flag it for the same reason. The fetal carry is still sold and instructed alongside the hip-healthy rating, and no knee-to-knee panel width is published for either seat setting.

The shell is a hypoallergenic cotton-poly performance blend and the carrier contains no lead, toxic dyes, phthalates or flame retardants. No OEKO-TEX or GOTS certificate is held for this carrier, no PFAS, azo-dye or formaldehyde testing is named, and the shoulder, waist and leg padding is not covered by any published certification or test result.

We queried the complete CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records covering 1973 to August 2026 — and found one LÍLLÉbaby entry: a voluntary November 2018 recall of about 6,600 Active Series carriers, a different line from this one, after three reports of the sliding chest-clip strap detaching from the shoulder strap, with one child falling and no injuries reported. Consumers were notified directly and offered a free replacement carrier plus a full refund, and that recall notice and remedy remain openly published years later.

Weight limits are stated plainly at 7–45 lb across all six carries, the hardware is described down to the two-way adjustable webbing, safety-band strap retention and buckles that click into place, and an independent tester who bought the All Seasons scored it 9 out of 10 for both security and support. Owner reviews across the corpus are clean on buckle slippage, ring failure and seam separation, including units in daily use with intact stitching and buckles after four years.

The carrier contains no lead, toxic dyes, phthalates or flame retardants. Nothing addresses PFAS in the outer fabric or the zip-down mesh, the declaration names no specific components, and no test method, result, laboratory or foam certification is given for the shoulder, waist and lumbar padding.
