This is an unweighted 37" x 37" stretch-knit square with no hood, no ties and no cords, so none of the design hazards this criterion exists to catch are built into the product. Two required elements are missing: no TOG rating is published, and there is no safe-sleep guidance at all — no swaddle wrapping instructions, no hip-healthy note, and nothing on how the blanket should and should not be used in the sleep environment.

The blanket is 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton in a breathable thermal knit with no synthetic blend — an exact fibre percentage with the certifying standard named — and the cotton is sourced and the blanket made in India. No certificate number accompanies the organic claim.

GOTS covers the finished blanket itself — "GOTS certified 100% organic cotton thermal blanket" — not merely the fibre, with the certification running from farm to mill to finished garment and extending to the dyes and trims. This is the strongest of the certifications this category looks for, though no certificate number is published for the blanket.

We queried the full CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — and L'ovedbaby appears nowhere in it, in any role, at any date. Control searches in the same corpus returned hundreds of records for cribs, strollers and toys, so those product classes are covered and the clean result reflects the brand's absence rather than a failed search.

This blanket is sold as GOTS-certified 100% organic cotton, and the certification is asserted for the finished goods rather than the fibre alone — the dyes, trims and snaps/zippers are GOTS-certified too, and the Indian factories that make the products are GOTS-certified and regularly monitored. No GOTS licence or certificate number is published for it.

Nothing about this blanket is marketed as easy-care, wrinkle-resistant, non-iron, stain-resistant or water-repellent — care is a plain machine wash warm, tumble dry low. The garments contain no formaldehyde, no toxic heavy metals and no aromatic solvents, and no chemical flame retardants are applied. The caveat: water- and stain-repellent finishes and PFAS specifically are never addressed in so many words.

Fibre content (100% organic cotton), dye chemistry (azo-free) and origin (cotton sourced in India, blanket ethically made there) are all published for this blanket. The individual mill or cut-and-sew facility is not named.

The blanket is a single 37" square of stretch thermal knit that stretches to 45" — there is no zip, no snap and no neck opening on it, so there is nothing to detach and nothing for a head to pass through. That absence follows from the published dimensions and construction rather than being stated outright, and the snaps and zippers used elsewhere in the line are lead-free, chrome-free and nickel-free.

This is a plain knit square with no snaps, zips, buttons or raised screen print. The colour comes from azo-free, GOTS-certified dyes, and no azo dyes that release carcinogenic amine compounds are used. Where trims and snaps appear on the wider garment line they are lead-free, chrome-free and nickel-free, with no PVC.
