CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

88 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Tableware Material Safety 91

The cup, lid and straw are 100% food-grade silicone — no melamine, no bamboo composite, no decorated stainless — and that silicone is free of lead, cadmium, BPA, BPS, BPF, PVC and phthalates, with annual third-party testing behind it. Whether the silicone is platinum-cured, and any LFGB certification, are not published.

Decoration & Coating Risk 89

This is single-colour moulded silicone throughout — cup, lid and straw carry no printed decals, painted decoration or glaze on any surface that meets food or the mouth, so the lead vector this criterion exists to catch is absent by construction — and the silicone is free of lead and cadmium. The colourants used in each colourway are not separately identified and no heavy-metal result is published for the pigmented material.

Food-Contact Material Safety 91

Every surface that touches the mouth is 100% food-grade silicone, third-party quality tested and free of BPA, BPS, BPF, PVC, phthalates, lead and cadmium — so the bisphenol replacements are addressed rather than BPA alone, and there is no polycarbonate or PVC anywhere in the cup, lid or straw. The cure system (platinum versus peroxide) and any migration results are not published.

Heat & Dishwasher Guidance 85

There is real care detail here: warm soapy water is recommended in preference to the dishwasher, unscented non-oily detergents are specified because oils and antibacterial agents cling to silicone, steam-and-dry settings and spacing are advised, and there is an explicit instruction not to boil, sanitise or microwave the utensils and to keep smaller items out of the oven. But the microwave status of this cup is inconsistent — it is sold as microwave safe while microwave and oven use is elsewhere extended only to the mat-based products — and there is no guidance for when to retire a scratched, stained or odour-holding cup or straw.

Heat & Wear Behavior 69

Several owners independently report black mould appearing inside the straw and in the cup body within weeks of normal washing and air-drying, with one saying it will not wash out of the material, and others report a strong odour present from new that survives repeated washing — set against the description of this silicone as non-porous, bacteria-inhibiting and built to last without wear. No replacement interval is published for the cup or the straw, and no sterilising method is validated for them.

Recall History 97

We queried the complete CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — and ezpz appears nowhere in it, in any role, at any date. A control check in the same corpus returned hundreds of records for comparable juvenile categories, so the clean result reflects the brand's absence rather than a query that missed.

Certification Credibility 92

ezpz asserts CPSC certification and FDA compliance for its silicone cups, and states products are tested annually by an independent third-party laboratory against applicable US and international requirements; this cup is third-party quality tested for BPA, BPS, PVC and phthalates. No certificate number, laboratory name or test report is published.

Transparency & Support 87

The materials are named — 100% food-grade silicone for cup, lid and straw — and replacement straws and straw cleaners are sold separately, so a lost or worn part does not retire the cup. The country of manufacture and the factory are not published, and a request for documentation of the straw's composition went unanswered.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Many customers say the weighted base and textured straw bumps helped their baby learn to drink from a straw quickly, often within days.
Reviewers frequently mention the cup's small size and light weight make it easy for little hands to hold and manage independently.
A number of reviewers report the cup leaks or spills, especially when tipped over or dropped, despite the lid.
Several customers describe mold growing inside the cup or straw after weeks of normal use, even with regular washing, and say it would not come out.
Some reviewers report a persistent odor or off taste in certain cups that did not go away after multiple washings, including with vinegar.
Some customers feel the cup is pricey for its size but consider it worth the investment given the durability and developmental benefit; others feel it is overpriced for what it offers.
Some reviewers wish the cup held more liquid, noting it is hard to fit the full stated capacity and requires refilling during a meal.

Working with baby to learn straw is better with right tools! Still learning but getting there.
Nakia W.
Love the weighted feel of the cup and the sensory bumps of the straw. Product is of great quality. Love the color as well.

This tiny cup is perfect for little hands
Tara O.
The straw failed the “pinch test” which may indicate it is not actually 100% food-grade silicone. I requested documentation showing the composition of the straw, but have received no response. Buyer beware. I do not recommend this product unless they can provide more transparency.
Ben B.
We’ve used the cup for not more than a month, washing it often but 3 spots of black mold showed up inside of the cup. Huge regret since I had already purchased extra straws to replace the one that the cup came with it, but now I’ have to throw it away.
