CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

88 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

1,4-Dioxane Contamination Risk 91

The complete published ingredient list contains no ingredient ending in '-eth' and no PEG compound, so there is no apparent ethoxylate or dioxane-contamination pathway in this finished formula.

Preservative System 79

The full ingredient list is published and contains no named preservative at all - no parabens, no formaldehyde releasers, no MI/MCI, but also no sodium benzoate or phenoxyethanol identified, leaving the preservation approach for this water-containing gel unstated.

Formulation Safety 91

The full ingredient list is published: 69% ethyl alcohol, water, witch hazel, safflower oleosomes, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, essential oils, and aloe vera powder. None of the listed avoid-list items (parabens, formaldehyde releasers, triclosan, talc, chemical UV filters) appear anywhere in this formula.

Recall History 93

We queried the CPSC recall registry directly across its full history, with a control showing the database does cover comparable product classes, and found no record naming this brand anywhere. That is a clean track record, not merely an absence of searching.

Certification Credibility 95

PAUME is listed in the Leaping Bunny Program's own directory of certified cruelty-free companies, certified since 2021, so the brand's cruelty-free claim resolves with the certifier. The certification is held at company level and does not name this gel individually.

Certification Rigor 85

Leaping Bunny cruelty-free certification is named for the brand, but neither EWG VERIFIED nor MADE SAFE is claimed anywhere, and a non-toxic hand sanitizer guide lists this product without flagging either certification, unlike brands it does flag.

Transparency & Support 84

The full ingredient list is published, but no warranty terms apply to a consumable hand gel, country of manufacture is not stated anywhere for this product, and the only post-purchase commitment is a returns condition limited to unopened items.

Ingredient Transparency 85

The full ingredient list is published and runs to roughly 12 named ingredients, under the count benchmark, but the brand also promotes a five-step hand-care routine that works against keeping total product count low.

Marketing Claim Honesty 85

Marketing pairs a specific, checkable claim (69% ethyl alcohol killing 99.9% of germs) with softer unregulated language like 'clean, high-performance formulas' and 'premium plant based emollients' that carries no named method or result.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Customers frequently praise the scent and say the gel leaves hands feeling soft and moisturized rather than dry or stripped.
Many reviewers highlight that the gel absorbs quickly without leaving a sticky or tacky residue, unlike other sanitizers they've used.
Some reviewers find the scent too strong or lingering, describing it as spicy or earthy rather than fresh and citrusy, which isn't to everyone's taste.
A few customers describe the gel as slimy or slow to dry, saying the texture made it unpleasant to use right before handling a baby.
One customer reported developing a rash on both hands after a single use.
A couple of reviewers note the bottle can leak or pop open inside a bag, and one mentions product getting squeezed out under heat and pressure.
Some customers consider the product pricey but feel it's worth it for the quality and feel, while at least one reviewer felt it was overpriced given a disappointing texture and scent.

"Doesnt leave your hands feeling stripped very nourishing and lovely smell"
Tabbitha B
"Ive now purchased all your products. They are by far the best on the market. Quality and effectiveness are outstanding. I wouldnt use anything else now. Sanitizers, hand cream and serum, foot cream are all outstanding!"
Joanna B
"Sleek design/package, easy to carry, perfect scent (not too strong not unscented), refillable, enjoyable in every aspect!"
Customer
"The texture is really unappealing. It is very slimy and it takes forever to dry. I bought it for my diaper bag and changing table and it is especially terrible in these instances where you need to be touching your baby with slimy hands. The dispenser is beautiful and the smell is nice, but the texture is too bad to overlook."
Britt M
"This stuff smells nice. The containers are aesthetically pleasing and that’s mostly what I think I paid for. I bought this after the recent birth of my baby to encourage clean hands when you can’t immediately wash them. Unfortunately I used this one time and within an hour had a rash in both hands. Given the baby, this is the only new thing I put on my hands so I have no doubt it was this product. I’m not immediately clear on what caused the reaction, since I don’t typically react to things and my only known contact allergy is pine. Really bummed I didn’t try a smaller size before purchasing a gargantuan amount of it. It’s not a deal if you can’t use it! If you didn’t have an allergy, it’s nicely packaged nice smelling hand sanitizer, assuming you like the smell. I personally would have been better off at bath and body works for a fraction of the price."
