Colchón Orgánico Verse

Flammability compliance on this mattress is achieved by construction rather than chemistry: no chemical flame retardants, no fiberglass and no added flame barrier, with organic cotton and PLA batting in place of a treated layer. MADE SAFE, which bans hazardous flame retardants outright, lists Naturepedic sleep products in its certified-product catalogue, and EWG Verified — which prohibits both chemical flame retardants and fiberglass barriers — covers the brand's mattresses. The certificate covering this individual model is asserted rather than shown.

There is no polyurethane foam of any kind in this mattress — no memory, "eco" or soy foam — and no latex or wool either; support comes from encased steel coils that are heat-sealed in-house without glues or adhesives, with GOTS organic cotton batting and PLA above them. An independent reviewer who tested this model reports the same construction and notes the coils are encased in polyester. Coil count, coil gauge and batting weights are not published.

Naturepedic states that this mattress meets all federal flammability requirements without flame-retardant chemicals, fiberglass or added barriers, and it is built in the brand's own Ohio factory with a named manufacturer and law-tag registration rather than arriving from an unidentified importer. The applicable federal mattress flammability parts are not cited for this model, and no children's product certificate, accredited-lab flammability report or test result is published.

We queried the full CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — and Naturepedic appears nowhere in it, in any role, at any date. The same corpus returns 332 records mentioning cribs, so the product class is covered and the clean result reflects the brand's absence rather than a failed search.

The waterproof side is organic cotton bonded with a food-grade polyethylene coating derived from non-GMO sugarcane, with no vinyl, no PVC and no phthalates, and this waterproofing approach replaces PFAS-based treatments entirely. Accredited testing to UL 2884 covering roughly 80 PFAS compounds, plus a further independent screen of more than 250, returned non-detectable PFAS below 50 ppm total fluorine for the crib and kids mattresses, and the validated products are listed in UL's public database.

This mattress carries GOTS, EWG Verified, MADE SAFE, GREENGUARD Gold and a UL validation, and the UL non-detectable-PFAS validation covering the crib and kids mattresses came from accredited testing to UL 2884 with the validated products appearing in UL's public product catalogue. MADE SAFE lists Naturepedic sleep products in its own certified-product catalogue, and the FSC chain-of-custody licence code FSC-C123979 is published. Licence numbers for the GOTS, GREENGUARD Gold and MADE SAFE certificates are not printed for this individual model, so their scope is asserted rather than shown.

This mattress is GREENGUARD Gold certified, meaning the finished product is tested in a sealed chamber against limits for more than 360 VOCs and formaldehyde under the California Department of Public Health Section 01350 method, and the brand also holds UL's formaldehyde-free validation. There is no polyurethane foam, no adhesives and no flame-retardant chemistry in the build, which removes the usual off-gassing sources. No emissions result table or listing reference is published for this specific model.

This mattress is handcrafted in Naturepedic's own GOTS-certified factory in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, the materials are published for each mattress, and it comes with a 25-year limited warranty. The warranty is summarised rather than published as full terms.

This mattress is sold as extra firm for toddlers and young children, with a flippable design that moves from the waterproof potty-training side to a quilted side as the child grows, weight limits published per size, and a foundation required for proper support. Independent reviewers who put children on this exact model found it firm and sturdy through their test periods, and firmer and less cushy than comparable organic kids beds.

The cover fabric, fill and quilting are GOTS certified organic cotton, and the certification is held for the finished mattress and for the whole Chagrin Falls factory rather than one component; GOTS's own annual reporting names Naturepedic among its certified brands, held since 2009. No licence number is printed for this model, so the fabric-level scope rests on the brand's account of it.

The build is disclosed component by component: GOTS certified organic cotton fabric, fill and quilting, a waterproof layer derived from non-GMO sugarcane, PLA batting, and encased steel coils that are heat-sealed rather than glued, with no polyurethane foam, latex or wool. An independent reviewer who tested this model reports the same construction and adds that the interior coils are wrapped in polyester, a detail Naturepedic does not spell out itself.
