Características clave

Certificaciones

    • OEKO-TEX Certified

    Certified by OEKO-TEX (Standard 100)

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certifies that every component of a textile item has been lab-tested and found free of harmful substances above set limits.

    What it checks

    • Testing of yarn, fabric, buttons, and other accessories against a list of over 1,000 regulated substances
    • Stricter chemical limits for products with more intensive skin contact, including a dedicated infant/toddler product class
    • Compliance with chemical regulations such as REACH, CPSIA, and the ECHA-SVHC candidate list
    • Annual review of substance limit values and one-year validity per certificate

What it does not cover It tests for chemical residues only and does not certify general product safety features like choking hazards, flammability, or mechanical construction.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

87 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Flame-Retardant-Free Foam 78

No flame-retardant-free declaration is published for this stroller's seat foam. Orbit Baby's flame-retardant-free statements are made for its car seats, which this product does not include.

Safety Standard Compliance 92

This stroller seat is specified to comply with ASTM F833-19 and 16 CFR 1227, and eligible Orbit Baby products carry the Baby Safety Alliance Verified Seal covering ASTM standards, federal and state law, and chemical limits, retested annually. No certificate number for this specific seat is published.

PFAS-Free Fabric 84

The stroller's fabric is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified for harmful substances including pesticides, toxic chemicals and dyes, but neither the brand nor the independent review naming this certification states a PFAS-free result or test method.

JPMA Structural Certification 92

Eligible Orbit Baby products carry the Baby Safety Alliance Verified Seal (formerly JPMA Certified), which involves independent lab sample testing against the applicable ASTM standard and annual retesting, though no certificate number specific to this seat is published.

Recall History 92

We queried the CPSC recall database directly across its full history and found no record of Orbit Baby at all. Separately, the brand did voluntarily recall a car seat base component in 2013 for an installation defect, with no injuries reported and a free remedy kit provided — a different product line than this stroller seat.

Textile & Foam Chemistry 91

The seat fabric and materials are sourced to be safe and non-toxic with OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification against pesticides, toxic dyes and other harmful substances. No formaldehyde, bisphenol or VOC off-gassing disclosure is published for this stroller.

Certification Credibility 92

Orbit Baby strollers carry the Baby Safety Alliance Verified Seal (formerly JPMA Certified), an independent lab sample-testing program covering ASTM standards, federal law, and chemical limits, retested annually, though no certificate number is published for this seat.

Mechanical Safety Features 84

The seat features an adjustable 5-point harness, 3-position recline, and 360° rotation with side-lever controls, but no test method or result is published for hinge, brake or harness durability. A magnetic crotch-buckle safety concern exists for a child with a pacemaker.

Transparency & Support 91

The seat is backed by a 2-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, with a published claims process and contact route, and the brand links product manuals for assembly and use. Full raw materials lists beyond textile certification are not published.

Washable Covers & Off-Gassing 77

We found no statement on whether the G5 Stroller Seat covers are removable or machine-washable, and no airing or off-gassing guidance is published anywhere for this product.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Customers mention the seat's rotation feature as their favorite part, useful for turning a baby away from sun glare or facing them toward parents while out.
Some customers find the seat padding gets warm in hot weather and wish for an alternative padding option.
One customer reported receiving a magnetic crotch buckle instead of the traditional buckle shown online, which caused an issue with their child's pacemaker and difficulty getting it resolved.
A customer wished the stroller seat could be collapsed while still attached to the frame.

The stroller shows online a traditional crotch buckle instead of a magnetic one but they sent me one with magnetic crotch buckle, my baby has a pacemaker which it does interfere in contact with the magnet, I ask for a replacement or any solution but I didn’t get any… it is a very expensive brand to buy and not received any solution or support.

We love all of our orbit products so far. We continue to add to the collection. Our daughter seems very comfortable in the stroller seat. We love that ability to move all the pieces around. I do wish there was someway to make a stroller seat that was able to be collapsed with the frame attached still, but understand bc of the rotation and interchangeability that would be difficult.

I'm in love with the stroler seat. My favorite feature is the rotation. Is very convenient when the sun gets on her face I can easily turn her the opposite way. I do how ever woul like a alternative padding for hot days so my baby is not over heated from her back.
