We queried the complete CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — and Makemake Organics appears nowhere in it, in any role, at any date. The same corpus returns hundreds of records for cribs, strollers and toys, so children's product classes are genuinely covered and this clean result reflects the brand's absence rather than a failed search.

Makemake Organics is a GOTS licensed brand under licence number IDFL 010673, certified by IDFL Laboratory and Institute, with the products and the facility both certified organic and this romper carrying the IDFL 26390 mark. Fair Trade and OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 are also claimed for the products, and independent write-ups repeat the GOTS and OEKO-TEX credentials, though no certificate identifiers are attached to those two.

The romper is declared free of PFAS, formaldehyde, flame retardants, phthalates and AZO dyes, and the GOTS processing the brand works to prohibits bleach and formaldehyde outright. Nothing about the garment is sold as easy-care, wrinkle-resistant, non-iron, stain-resistant or water-repellent — care is a gentle machine wash, no bleach and a cool iron — and an independent write-up repeats the flame-retardant-free and PFAS-free position.

Ongoing care for this romper is spelled out in detail: machine wash on a gentle cycle, do not bleach, iron on cool, mild plant-based soap or mild detergent, tumble dry on low and remove promptly, with wool dryer balls suggested instead of softener. Against that, there is no instruction to wash the garment before first wear — the one step this category asks for is absent.

The romper is designed in Florida and manufactured in India at a GOTS certified factory, with the cotton sourced where it is grown and fabric content published for every item. The sewing facility is not named.

The closure is a named 2-way YKK zipper, the garment is tagless against the skin, and the patterns are printed with water-based, AZO-free dyes rather than a thick raised plastisol print. The disclosure stops short on the metal itself: there is no nickel-free or lead-free statement for the zipper and no heavy-metal migration result for the hardware.
