Under the Nile makes organic clothing, bedding and home goods for babies and kids from Egyptian cotton. It began in 1998, when a California mom looking for clothes that would not irritate her daughters' sensitive skin partnered with SEKEM, a community of Egyptian farmers and artisans growing organic, biodynamic cotton. The two worked together for 25 years, and since 2023 the brand has been run by SEKEM itself. Its cotton is GOTS certified organic, the company is carbon neutral, and everyone who makes its products is paid fair wages.
