GOTS Certified Organic

Certified by Global Organic Textile Standard

GOTS certification verifies that a textile product's organic fibre content and its full processing supply chain meet defined organic, environmental and social criteria.

What it checks

• Confirms fibres used are certified organic (e.g. cotton, wool, hemp, silk, linen)
• Checks chemical inputs, wastewater treatment and environmental management during processing
• Verifies human rights and social due-diligence criteria across the supply chain
• Requires traceability, annual on-site audits and transaction-based checks at every processing stage

What it does not cover This certification addresses organic fibre content, processing chemicals and supply-chain conditions; it is not a general product safety, flammability, or choking-hazard test.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

GOLS Certified Organic Latex

Certified by Global Organic Latex Standard

GOLS certification tracks that latex used in a product is made from organic raw material and processed under audited chain-of-custody controls.

What it checks

• Verifies an organization applied for and completed a third-party audit process
• Involves an audit, a secondary review by a certifier, and corrective-action requirements before a certificate is issued
• Certification can be paused or withheld if corrective actions are not resolved within agreed timeframes

What it does not cover The source page describes only Control Union's general certification process and does not detail what GOLS itself tests, so specific safety, performance, or chemical-content claims cannot be confirmed from this page.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

GREENGUARD Gold

Certified by UL Solutions

GREENGUARD Gold certifies that a product has been tested by UL Solutions and meets strict limits on chemical (VOC) emissions into indoor air.

What it checks

• Lab testing of chemical emissions against limits for more than 360 VOCs plus total chemical emissions
• Meets stricter emission limits than standard GREENGUARD, intended for sensitive settings like nurseries and schools
• Compliance with California Section 01350 chamber testing method for VOC emissions
• Manufacturing process review and routine re-testing to confirm ongoing compliance

What it does not cover It measures air emissions from the product, not general product safety, physical/mechanical hazards, choking risk, or compliance with toy or baby-product safety regulations.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

MADE SAFE

Certified by Nontoxic Certified

MADE SAFE certifies that a product's ingredients have been screened against a list of chemicals known or suspected to harm human health or the environment.

What it checks

• Screens ingredients against the MADE Banned List of flagged chemicals
• Reviews products using an ecosystem approach considering human health and environmental impact
• Applies across product categories such as textiles, mattresses, and personal care items
• Certification is issued and maintained by Nontoxic Certified, the program's issuing body

What it does not cover The page does not indicate that this certification tests overall product safety, performance, durability, or compliance with government safety regulations.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.
