Bamboo Blend Pajamas

We queried the CPSC recall register and found that Apple Park's bamboo loungewear two-piece sets — 96% viscose with 4% spandex, sizes 6 months through 4, the same garment type and size range as these pajamas — were recalled in 2013 for violating the federal children's sleepwear flammability standard, with refunds offered and no injuries reported. For this set the compliance route remains undisclosed: the ribbed cuffs give a snug fit, but the required snug-fit and not-flame-resistant label and hangtag wording appears nowhere, and there is no statement that the garment is untreated and meets the standard by fit.

The fabric is a proprietary bamboo and organic cotton blend and the garments are manufactured in China, but the exact fibre percentages are not published and no certifying body is named for the organic cotton in this set — the GOTS certification Apple Park cites covers its plush items. For a garment worn against skin all night, the split between the bamboo-derived fibre and the cotton matters.

No GOTS or OEKO-TEX Class I certification is claimed for this finished garment: the GOTS certified organic cotton claim covers Apple Park's plush items, and the OEKO-TEX mention on these pajamas attaches to the printing. The cotton in this set is blended with bamboo, so a fibre-level organic claim would not reach the GOTS 'Organic' grade for the garment.

We queried the full CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — and found one entry for Apple Park: a 2013 recall of children's loungewear for violating the federal flammability standard. Nothing has been filed in the thirteen years since, and nothing in the layette or romper category this garment belongs to.

The only certification attached to these pajamas is an OEKO-TEX reference for the printing, independently tested to be free from harmful chemicals — no product class, no certificate number and no statement that the finished set itself is certified. The GOTS organic cotton certification Apple Park names applies to its plush items rather than to this garment.

Nothing about these pajamas markets them as easy-care, wrinkle-resistant, non-iron, stain-resistant or water-repellent, and the care instructions call for a cool iron, consistent with an untreated fabric. Standing in for a no-treatment declaration is a general OEKO-TEX statement that the print is free from harmful chemicals, with no formaldehyde or PFAS results published for the finished set.

The construction avoids the hazards this criterion grades: a pull-on long-sleeve top and matching pull-on pants, ribbed cuffs at wrists and ankles, a tagless neckline, and no snaps, zips, cords, neck ties or detachable feet grips. No attachment-security or small-parts testing for the finished garment is published.

Two dye claims sit close to this garment without covering it: the print on these pajamas uses OEKO-TEX tested inputs free from harmful chemicals, and Apple Park's low-impact, azo-free dyeing applies to its GOTS certified organic cotton fabrics rather than to this bamboo and cotton blend. The dye screening is therefore asserted at print and other-fabric level, not for the finished printed garment, and no certificate number accompanies it.

Apple Park's products are designed in San Francisco and manufactured in China. The materials disclosure stops short — the set is only a bamboo and organic cotton blend, with no fibre percentages, no mill or supplier named, and no warranty terms.

This set has no snaps, buttons or zips to detach — it is a pull-on set with ribbed cuffs and a tagless neckline — so the metal-hardware risk this criterion grades is largely designed out. The print is the open question: the all-over Woodland Dreams design uses OEKO-TEX tested inputs, but the print method is not named and no heavy-metal or restricted-azo results are published for the finished garment.
