Because natural rubber latex is a natural material, some color variation in the nipple is normal.
BIBS sizes numbers as a guide rather than a strict rule: every size can technically be worn from birth, though size 2 is generally suggested starting around 6 months, with the baby's own preference deciding the fit. Before first use, the maker recommends gently pulling the nipple in all directions to check for weakness or damage, then sterilizing it. The nipple should be checked regularly afterward and replaced every 4 to 6 weeks, or sooner at the first sign of damage, stickiness, or enlargement.
