Key Features

Certifications

    • OEKO-TEX Certified

    Certified by OEKO-TEX (Standard 100)

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certifies that every component of a textile item has been lab-tested and found free of harmful substances above set limits.

    What it checks

    • Testing of yarn, fabric, buttons, and other accessories against a list of over 1,000 regulated substances
    • Stricter chemical limits for products with more intensive skin contact, including a dedicated infant/toddler product class
    • Compliance with chemical regulations such as REACH, CPSIA, and the ECHA-SVHC candidate list
    • Annual review of substance limit values and one-year validity per certificate

What it does not cover It tests for chemical residues only and does not certify general product safety features like choking hazards, flammability, or mechanical construction.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

85 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Sleep-Surface Addition Safety 83

This sheet is marketed for softness and comfort rather than firmness, no thickness is stated, and a mattress protector layer is recommended alongside it, which raises a stacking question without addressing firmness or flatness.

Model-Specific Fit 91

This sheet fits only the US Original babybay and explicitly excludes the Maxi, Maxi Tall and Pre-2020 models, with a model identification guide linked for buyers to confirm fit.

Sleep-Product Compliance 79

The sheet's OEKO-TEX chemical certification and materials are disclosed, but no CPC or accredited-lab report naming the applicable federal bassinet-accessory standard is published for this sheet.

Recall History 92

We queried the CPSC recall registry directly and found one record: a 2018 recall of Babynest crib bumpers, a different accessory line, for a strangulation hazard. Babybay proactively contacted purchasers, and no injuries were reported.

Textile & Coating Chemistry 90

The sheet is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class 1 for babies and made of 100% organic cotton, but it is not separately stated to be PVC- or PFAS-free since it is not a waterproof item.

Certification Credibility 91

The sheet is certified baby-safe under OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class 1 for babies, a certification claimed directly for this finished sheet with no certificate number published.

Emissions & Off-Gassing 78

No VOC or off-gassing information is published for this cotton jersey sheet, and nothing adjacent addresses emissions for this specific textile item.

Hardware Load & Stability 77

A jersey sheet has no load-bearing hardware of its own, and nothing published addresses load ratings, locking casters, or torque guidance for this accessory specifically.

Transparency & Support 84

The sheet's fiber (organic cotton) and country of manufacture (Germany) are disclosed, but no warranty terms or spare-parts/repair route for this accessory are published.

Attachment & Cord Safety 77

The fitted sheet has no cords, straps, or hanging elements, and no published material addresses reach, cord length, or weight limits for this product.

Material Disclosure Depth 84

The sheet is disclosed as 100% high-quality organic cotton with extra-long fibers, but there is no layer-by-layer breakdown, dye or finishing process disclosure, or any testing method behind the organic claim.
