Independent testers who bought this Classic Seamless model measured it themselves (about 28.1" wide by 52.3" long by 6.8" tall including the cover), fitted it into five different cribs and found a snug fit with gaps small enough to be safe but still liftable for sheet changes, confirmed it passes the two-finger test, and saw no sagging or indentation in use. Published dimensions are 27 1/4" x 51 5/8" x 6", firmness follows AAP and CPSC guidance, and support comes from steel coils or a food-grade polyethylene core — never memory foam or any other polyurethane foam. No accredited-lab firmness or dimensional report is published.

Flammability compliance here is achieved by design rather than chemistry: no fiberglass, no chemical flame retardants and no separate flame barrier of any kind. The third-party verified component inventory for this exact model lists only organic cotton fabric and fill, food-grade polyethylene support and waterproofing, and polypropylene interlinings — nothing in the build in which a barrier could hide, and none of it flagged on the hazard lists screened. The mattress is also MADE SAFE certified, a screen that prohibits flame retardants outright, and outside reviewers who track fiberglass use in crib mattresses place Naturepedic in the fiberglass-free group. The flammability test result itself is not published.

Naturepedic states this crib mattress is designed to meet all applicable CPSC requirements and AAP firmness guidance, and to pass all federal and state flammability standards without flame retardants. Two required elements are missing: the governing federal rule for this product class — 16 CFR 1241, which incorporates ASTM F2933 — is never cited for this model, and no Children's Product Certificate from a CPSC-accepted laboratory is available to a shopper.

Waterproofing is food-grade polyethylene derived from non-GMO sugarcane bonded to the organic cotton surface — no PVC, no vinyl, no phthalates — and the core is either that same food-grade polyethylene or steel coils, with each layer's weight share published. UL Solutions validated these crib mattresses as non-detectable for PFAS under UL 2884 in 2025, below a 50 ppm total-fluorine threshold, with additional testing at a second independent laboratory across 250+ PFAS compounds coming back far below the strictest limits; the validation is searchable in UL's public product catalogue, and laboratory-confirmed absence of intentionally added PFAS is recorded for this specific model.

We queried the full CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — and Naturepedic appears nowhere in it, in any role, at any date. The same corpus returns 332 records mentioning cribs, so the product class is covered and the clean result reflects the brand's absence rather than a failed search.

This mattress carries GOTS, EWG Verified, MADE SAFE, GREENGUARD Gold, UL Formaldehyde Free and UL non-detectable-PFAS validation, and several of these resolve outside the brand: an accredited third-party verifier re-screened this exact Classic Seamless model in November 2025 and confirmed GOTS organic label grade 1, the GREENGUARD Gold listing, the formaldehyde-free validation and OCS chain-of-custody tracking, and the UL validations are searchable under the Naturepedic name in UL Solutions' public product catalogue. The FSC chain-of-custody licence code FSC-C123979 is published; the GOTS licence number for the mattress itself is not.

The finished mattress is GREENGUARD Gold certified — chamber testing by UL Solutions for more than 360 VOCs, including formaldehyde, against the California Section 01350 method — and separately holds UL's formaldehyde-free validation, both confirmed for this exact Classic Seamless model by an accredited third-party verifier in November 2025. The build contains no polyurethane foam, no adhesives and no engineered wood, and testers who unboxed a Naturepedic Classic reported no chemical odour. The certificate number and the measured emission values are not published, so the pass is recorded rather than shown.

Both cotton components — the outer fabric and the fill — are GOTS certified, and an accredited third-party verifier confirmed GOTS organic label grade 1 for this finished model in November 2025, alongside OCS chain-of-custody tracking of the organic fibre. The only other textile element, the polypropylene interlining, is a GOTS-allowed accessory material rather than a certified organic one. No GOTS licence number is published for the mattress, and it does not carry OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 Class I.

Materials are published component by component with weight ranges and chemical identities, the mattress is handcrafted in Naturepedic's own GOTS-certified factory in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and crib mattresses carry a lifetime limited warranty. Independent testers who bought this Classic Seamless model read its composition off the mattress's own label and described the materials list as unusually transparent for a category where most brands stay vague; an accredited third-party verifier separately signed off on the full component inventory.

Every component of this model is disclosed with its weight range, chemical identity and role: organic cotton fill at 60–68%, food-grade polyethylene support at 32–40%, food-grade polyethylene waterproofing, organic cotton fabric and polypropylene interlinings, with residuals and impurities evaluated for all five materials and no substance flagged on the priority hazard lists screened. There are no glues or adhesives in the build — coils are heat-sealed instead. An accredited third-party verifier signed off on that inventory in November 2025, including laboratory-confirmed absence of intentionally added PFAS.
