Key Features

Certifications

    • FSC Certified

    Certified by Forest Stewardship Council

FSC certification traces wood and paper-based materials in a product back through the supply chain to forests managed under FSC's standards.

    What it checks

    • Chain of custody tracking of wood/fibre from certified forests through manufacturing
    • Forest management practices checked against FSC standards (100%, Recycled, or Mix sourcing labels)
    • Auditing of certificate holders and monitoring of forest management organizations
    • Traceability tools such as blockchain-based tracking of certified material

What it does not cover This label addresses forest sourcing and traceability of wood/paper materials; it does not test or certify the safety, chemical content, or performance of a finished product.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

85 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Build Durability 84

The cards are made of thick FSC-certified board with rounded corners, durable enough for years of handling, and a buyer notes they feel more like wood than paper. No drop, bend, or wear-test method or result is given to support the durability claim.

Developmental Claim Honesty 84

The cards tie specific features (high-contrast illustrations, bold numbers) to visual development and numeracy claims, but no independent testing or method backs 'Montessori-inspired' or 'supports visual development' language.

Toy Safety Compliance 78

No CPSIA or ASTM F963 compliance trail is published for this specific card set, though the brand is an identifiable, retail-distributed toy manufacturer for which such non-publication is standard industry practice.

Age Grading & Choking Safety 85

These cards are 'safe for babies to explore' with no explicit numeric age range or small-parts warning stated for this item, leaving the age claim generic rather than concretely graded.

Recall History 92

We queried the CPSC recall registry directly and found two records for this brand: a 2021 wooden tray puzzle choking recall and a 2024 phthalates recall on a tummy-time toy, both voluntary and neither covering flashcards like this one. No open or unremedied recalls exist for this product line.

Certification Credibility 91

The cards are printed on thick FSC-certified board, a named standard asserted for the finished product itself, not just a supplier's facility.

Transparency & Support 84

We found the board material (FSC-certified) and ink type (eco-friendly) disclosed for this product, but no country of manufacture, no supplier name, and no warranty terms are published for it specifically.
