CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

86 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Magnet & Small-Part Safety 78

The Stacking Rocket is a non-magnetic wooden stacking toy, so the magnet-ingestion hazard this criterion targets does not apply; no compliance trail or small-parts test result specific to this toy's stacking rings and base is published.

Build Quality & Tolerance 82

The rocket's stacking pieces and base are described only in general design terms, with no test data on fit tolerance or stacking durability for this specific set; broader PlanToys reviews praise build quality and longevity in wooden toys generally, but not this item.

Material & Finish Safety 91

The rocket is made of chemical-free rubberwood with formaldehyde-free (E-Zero) glue, organic pigments and water-based dyes, and a water-based lacquer finish, with the brand noting this paint may fade under heavy chewing or cleaning but not chip into sharp fragments under normal use.

Toy Safety Compliance 90

ASTM and EN71 compliance are named and test reports are downloadable per product, but no CPSIA/CPC certificate is named specifically for this toy, and the standard is asserted without a method or result attached.

Age Grading & Choking Safety 84

The rocket carries an 18M+ age label, and the brand reminds shoppers generally to follow age guidelines and supervise play with small parts, but no small-parts test result or cross-source age check for this specific toy is published.

Recall History 92

We queried the CPSC recall registry directly across its full 1973-2026 corpus and found exactly one PlanToys recall: a 2017 baby-gym strangulation hazard, remedied with a free replacement and no injuries reported. The brand redesigned the product and initiated the recall itself after retesting, in a different product category than this stacking toy.

Certification Credibility 84

The rocket names ASTM and EN71 compliance and references downloadable test reports, but no certificate number, lab name, or actual report is attached to this listing. Separately, the brand's FSC status is disputed between its own pages, which undermines confidence in its certification claims generally.

Transparency & Support 91

The rocket is made in Thailand from chemical-free rubberwood, formaldehyde-free glue, organic pigments and water-based dyes, and PlanToys operates a dedicated Toy Clinic repair service plus a replacement-parts route for broken or missing pieces.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Customers describe the stacking rocket as well made and engaging, noting the puzzle-like fit of shapes and disks on both the top and bottom of each piece.
Reviewers say the toy supports multiple learning skills, including stacking, shape and color matching, and object permanence, and that it works well for kids at different developmental stages.
Several reviewers like that the stacking rings have no center post, saying this avoids the safety concern of a toddler carrying or falling on a rod, unlike traditional stacking toys they've owned.
One reviewer mentioned that after losing a piece, their child could no longer play with the toy as intended.
Some customers say the toy makes a great gift and looks attractive displayed on a shelf.

This toy has some nice complexities. It’s a puzzle on both the top and bottom of each section. Holds the child’s interest and looks beautiful on the shelf. Makes a great gift.

I love that this stacking ring play set does not have a center rod for the rings. The rings just fit together as it is stacked. I used to have a traditional stacking ring set and my toddler would want to walk around carrying just the rod base in her mouth no less which was a safety issue if she would fall. So we got rid of it and now have this lovely set. Perfect educational toy for any toddler.

This set is well made and a hit with our ten months old. He enjoys trying to figure out how the different shapes fit into the disks. I like the fact this stacking set does not come with a post. My little one likes to chew on the post from another toy and I always worry he may fall forward onto it. This rocket is the perfect size and nice to look at.
