CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

83 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Piece Size & Age Fit 78

No piece dimensions or small-parts test result are published for this second-edition puzzle's six pieces. The 2021 recall of the first edition, whose octopus and elephant pieces could snap off, does not cover this redesigned edition, and no failure is reported for it.

Finish & Material Safety 84

The brand names a water-based, nontoxic finish for its rubberwood toys, which covers the painted wooden pieces in this puzzle, but publishes no test method, lab result, or certificate backing that claim.

Fit & Durability 78

No durability claim, drop test or breakage record is published for this second-edition puzzle. The first edition drew six US and two Canadian reports of pieces breaking before its 2021 recall; that recall does not cover this redesigned edition.

Toy Safety Compliance 84

This line is fully CPSIA compliant and certified to US and UKCA standards, and tested for phthalates, lead, and soluble metals, but does not name ASTM F963 or identify a testing lab or method anywhere in its published claims.

Age Grading & Choking Safety 85

This second-edition puzzle is labeled for ages 2 and up, with no small-parts warning published beside that grade. The first edition, labeled 18 months and up, was recalled in 2021 because its octopus and elephant pieces could break off; no such report exists for this edition.

Recall History 92

We queried the CPSC recall registry directly across its full corpus and found two recalls: a 2021 voluntary recall of the Ocean/Safari wooden tray puzzle line for a piece-breakage choking hazard with no injuries reported, and a 2024 voluntary recall of an unrelated tummy-time product, also with no injuries. Both were brand-initiated with clean remedies.

Certification Credibility 84

Wee Gallery states this puzzle is CPSIA compliant and certified to US and UKCA standards and tested for phthalates, lead, and soluble metals, but no test method, lab, or certificate number is published for this puzzle specifically.

Transparency & Support 85

The brand names the wood (natural rubberwood), country of manufacture (Thailand), and a general water-based nontoxic finish for rubberwood toys, but publishes no warranty terms or spare-parts/repair route for this puzzle.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Customers describe the puzzle as high quality and appealing, with several calling it adorable and well made for the price.
Reviewers mention the pieces are a comfortable size for small hands to grip and fit into the tray without being too tight.
Some customers note the animal shapes are a bit intricate for very young toddlers, though they expect the puzzle to remain usable for years.

Great quality, my 11 month old son loves it 😀 Plus its adorable!
Shannon
I love this puzzle for its high quality and realism regarding the animals, which makes it educational as well as fun. Haven't given it as a gift yet, but plan to this Christmas or on grandchild's birthday.
Customer Gail S
