Key Features

Certifications

    • FSC Certified

    Certified by Forest Stewardship Council

FSC certification traces wood and paper-based materials in a product back through the supply chain to forests managed under FSC's standards.

    What it checks

    • Chain of custody tracking of wood/fibre from certified forests through manufacturing
    • Forest management practices checked against FSC standards (100%, Recycled, or Mix sourcing labels)
    • Auditing of certificate holders and monitoring of forest management organizations
    • Traceability tools such as blockchain-based tracking of certified material

What it does not cover This label addresses forest sourcing and traceability of wood/paper materials; it does not test or certify the safety, chemical content, or performance of a finished product.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

84 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Build Durability 85

The cards are durable, matte laminated with rounded corners, and wipe-clean, with a reviewer independently confirming they are 'super sturdy' after months of use by a young child. No accelerated wear or drop testing method is cited.

Developmental Claim Honesty 82

The product claims '20 years of research' and pediatrician-noticed outcomes with no named study or mechanism, alongside a concrete feature-to-skill pairing (bold letters build letter recognition). The research and pediatrician claims remain unfalsifiable buzzwords.

Toy Safety Compliance 78

No CPSIA or ASTM F963 compliance statement naming this card set was found. The brand is an identifiable, retail-distributed manufacturer, and Children's Product Certificates are routinely withheld from public product pages industry-wide.

Age Grading & Choking Safety 85

The cards are marketed for newborns through preschoolers with no single age label, and no small-parts warning appears. Rounded corners and matte lamination are named, but no method or test confirming choking safety for younger infants is given.

Recall History 92

We queried the CPSC recall database directly and found two past recalls: wooden tray puzzles for a choking hazard (2021) and a Tummy Time Gallery play mat for a phthalates violation (2024) — neither covering this alphabet card product or line. Both were company-initiated Fast Track/voluntary recalls with no injuries reported.

Certification Credibility 90

The alphabet cards are made from FSC certified paperboard printed with soy-based inks, stated directly for this product. No certificate number or registry link is published alongside the claim.

Transparency & Support 84

The cards' paperboard material and soy ink are named, but the printing facility, country of manufacture, and any warranty or replacement terms for this product are not published anywhere we found.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Customers describe the cards as sturdy and well made, with several saying they expect them to last through their child's early school years.
Reviewers mention their babies enjoy looking at the animal illustrations.
A reviewer felt the cards could use more color, noting her baby seemed a little bored without it.

These cards are great! They are super sturdy. I got them for my 3 month old and he will be able to use them up through his early elementary school years. He loves to look at the animals! Everything we have gotten from wee gallery have been great!
Savannah
This product is good quality and it just as described in the pictures. Cards are big enough for my baby to look and hold. I do think maybe they need to have some color like other products of this brand because my baby gets kind of bored.
