Wildride makes a hip carrier for toddlers from 9 months to about 4 years old (up to 20 kg). The idea began in 2020 when co-founder Joost Hultink improvised a carrier from a surf strap while walking a beach with his children, then developed it further with Britt Schoorl, a fashion designer. The carrier is a fabric shell bucket attached to a wide, diagonal strap with a shoulder pad and a one-handed chest buckle, letting a child sit at hip height facing outward. It is SGS-certified to ASTM and CEN/TR standards, with new designs added every six months.
