About 300 reports of the glass cooking bowl shattering in use produced at least three minor-injury incidents from the resulting fragments, a laceration hazard in this exact product line. The 2019 recall supplied a free replacement bowl for the units it covered.

The cooking bowl and steam basket are named as glass and stainless steel with no plastic food contact during cooking, but the accompanying BPA/lead/phthalate-free claim covering these and the silicone storage containers never discloses BPS/BPF status.

Cleaning and air-drying instructions are published for the removable glass bowl, basket, lid and blade, and these are dishwasher-safe. But the water tank is a sealed cavity that cannot be seen into or dried, with a reviewer reporting a brown film building up inside it that cannot be reached or verified clean.

A concrete descaling interval of every 6-8 uses is published, and the cooking cycle ends on a sound-and-light signal with an auto shut-off, so the heat this appliance applies is bounded by the machine rather than left to the operator to notice - a finished-product safety control, corroborated independently by a hands-on review that reports the same beep and shut-off. We found only general claims of compliance with 'European and French standards' and '100+ tests a year' by outside labs, with no standard name, certificate number, or lab named anywhere for the finished product.

The silicone storage containers are marketed as oven and freezer safe, but no accuracy statement for portion graduations or expressed-food storage-duration guidance is published, and a customer reports a glass storage jar exploding in the microwave.
