CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

86 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Magnet & Small-Part Safety 78

This is a non-magnetic wooden stacking and sorting toy, so 16 CFR 1262 magnet rules do not apply; small-part age fit is graded separately. Nothing further on small-parts testing is published for this specific toy.

Build Quality & Tolerance 91

Reviewers consistently describe the pieces as well-made, sturdy solid wood that stacks and sorts precisely, with smooth edges and no reports of warping, breakage, or a poor fit across 21 reviews.

Material & Finish Safety 84

The wood is rubberwood finished with a baby-safe, nontoxic varnish, but no test method or standard is named for the finish itself, and a strong lingering paint smell that transferred onto stored fabric items is documented for this toy.

Toy Safety Compliance 92

The box for this exact toy states it conforms to ASTM and CPSIA standards, corroborating the brand's own CPSIA/US-UKCA compliance claim for its products even though no certificate number is published.

Age Grading & Choking Safety 85

The brand recommends this toy for ages 2+ with small stackable pieces, but it appeals to and is used by babies well under two, including an 11-month-old and a 9-month-old, without a small-parts warning.

Recall History 92

We queried the CPSC recall registry directly and found two prior recalls for this brand: a 2024 voluntary phthalate recall on a different product line and a 2021 choking-hazard recall on wooden tray puzzles, neither covering this Count and Stack Toy. Both were voluntary, with no injuries reported, and are part of the brand's record though not this product.

Certification Credibility 90

Its products are CPSIA compliant and certified to US and UKCA safety standards and are tested for phthalates, lead and soluble metals, though it names no lab or certificate number. This is a brand-wide claim rather than one made specifically for this building toy.

Transparency & Support 84

The material (rubberwood) and finish (a child-safe nontoxic varnish) and country of manufacture (China) are stated, but no warranty terms, spare-parts route, or finish/varnish composition are published for this toy.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Customers frequently describe the toy as well-made, sturdy, and durable, with nicely finished wooden pieces.
Many reviewers say the toy helps toddlers build counting, matching, and fine motor skills, and appreciate the woodland design.
One reviewer reported a strong paint smell from the pieces that did not fade and transferred onto nearby fabric items.
Several customers feel the toy suits toddlers younger than the stated age range, noting the stacking skill can develop before age two.
Some customers feel the toy is on the pricier side for a children's toy, though most consider it worth the cost for the quality.
A few reviewers mention losing small pieces around the house when a younger baby scatters them during play.

Amazing quality, a bit pricey for a childrens toy but my 11 month old son LOVES it. He plays with it all day.
Shannon
I love the wee gallery brand, and the aesthetic is always very chic for baby toys. I think the age range could be younger considering the stacking skill starts earlier than two, but a good toy for toddlers to learn with regardless. I gave one star less because the box came a bit torn and the plastic wrapping around the toy was opened as well. The wood pieces are a nice quality wood and are not flimsy wood pieces.
J
This is the perfect wood toy for a toddler learning coordination or how to count. I am very happy with this. It looks nice and is a learning toy which gives it a dual purpose that I love.
Candace
When I freed the puzzle pieces open from their plastic wrap I got a good wiff of the paint smell and thought after a few days of airing it out it would go away; it didn’t. The worse part is that the smell from the paint transfers and all of my baby’s silks and fabric storage bin smell like the puzzle pieces. I was annoyed and angry because I had the choice of buying this puzzle over another one with similar mechanics. Not happy with the purchase and the return process was helpful.
