Disposable Bibs

The waterproof layer is a polypropylene film rather than a PVC coating, and the bib is free from PVC, phthalates and latex — the combination this criterion looks for, and one an independent parenting outlet repeated in its coverage. The absorbent face is a soft-touch non-woven, with "cotton-y soft" covering feel rather than fibre content.

For the bib itself the BPA-free statement stands alone: BPS and BPF are not addressed, the polymer of the top layer that meets food and mouth is given only as non-woven, and no migration test method or result is published.

Water resistance here comes from a polypropylene film backing rather than a stain-resistant or water-repellent finish, and no antimicrobial treatment is claimed for the bibs — the chamomile antimicrobial topsheet belongs to the diapers. Parasol's PFAS work, more than 60 individual compounds screened to EN 17681-1:2025 and OEKO-TEX Method 9 with every result below detectable limits, is scoped to the diaper; no PFAS result and no explicit no-treatment declaration is published for the bibs.

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 Product Class I, the strictest tier for products touching infant skin, covers Parasol's diapers and the materials screening across its diaper and wipe range; it is not claimed for the finished disposable bib, and no GOTS claim is made for it either. The bib carries no textile certification and no certificate number.

This bib is worn for one meal, peeled off and thrown away, so there is no washing, sterilising or reuse cycle, and nothing in the copy implies extended life or microwave use. How the polypropylene backing and non-woven face behave against hot food is not addressed anywhere: no maximum food-contact temperature and no shedding or migration data at use temperature are published, and this is the one gap in an otherwise detailed product description.

We queried the full CPSC recall corpus on saferproducts.gov — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — and Parasol Co appears nowhere in it, in any role, at any date. Controls run in the same corpus returned hits for comparable juvenile-product classes (diapers, cribs, strollers, toys, pacifiers), so the clean result reflects the brand's absence rather than a query that missed.

Parasol holds OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 Product Class I, the infant-skin-contact tier, backed by named test methods and pass tables across PFAS, phthalates, heavy metals and bisphenols — but that certification and testing programme covers the diaper line, not these bibs. For the disposable bibs the only chemistry statement is a free-from list (chlorine, BPA, PVC, phthalates, fragrance, latex), with no certification named and no licence code.

The bib is disclosed layer by layer — a soft absorbent non-woven front and a waterproof polypropylene backing with peel-and-stick tabs. The disclosure stops short of the country of manufacture, the converter or supplier, and the top layer's fibre content.
