Farm Animals Set

These are four one-piece solid wood figures — no cords or ties, no hinges or lids, nothing at furniture scale to tip over — and the size of the set and of its largest piece are published against a 12-month-and-up grade. In the review corpus for this set we found no reports of breakage or detached pieces.

The figures arrive ready to play with no assembly, and are made from kiln-dried reclaimed rubberwood and PlanWood, a sawdust-based material densified by a thermal process; replacement parts are sold for broken or lost pieces and a repair clinic takes in damaged toys. The durability claim itself is stated in general terms, with no drop or breakage test result given.

The finish is water-based dye and water-based lacquer over preservative-free, kiln-dried rubberwood, with E-Zero formaldehyde-free adhesive and organic pigments in place of dyes containing lead or other heavy metals; the toys are Prop 65 compliant and pose no hazard if mouthed. One outside party sent PlanToys rubberwood to a laboratory of their own choosing and found it free of additives — that remains a single hands-on test, and the laboratory report itself was not published.

ASTM (USA) and EN 71 (Europe) safety compliance is claimed for this toy specifically, and an ASTM test report plus an EN 71 test report are published for this SKU. CPSIA third-party testing and a Children's Product Certificate are not referenced anywhere, and the ASTM revision in force is not named.

The set is graded 12 months and up, with dimensions published and the cow identified as the largest part; the figures measure 9 cm long, longer than the 1.25 in x 2.25 in cylinder used for the under-3 small-parts test. Parents are also asked to follow the age guidance and supervise play wherever smaller parts are involved.

We queried the CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — and found one PlanToys entry: a 2017 recall of roughly 500 baby gyms whose side rope crossbars posed a strangulation risk, with no injuries reported and free replacement gyms offered. That is a different product class from these solid wooden figurines, and it is the only filing in nearly nine years.

ASTM (USA) and EN 71 (Europe) compliance is asserted for this finished toy, and an ASTM test report and an EN 71 test report are published for this SKU and downloadable alongside it, with Prop 65 compliance also stated. The ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and SA 8000 certificates cover the factory and the company rather than the toy, no testing laboratory is named, and PlanToys states plainly that it is not FSC certified because it uses reclaimed plantation rubberwood.

Materials are disclosed component by component — reclaimed kiln-dried rubberwood, PlanWood made from surplus sawdust, E-Zero formaldehyde-free adhesive, organic pigments, water-based dyes and lacquer — with manufacture in Thailand, and replacement parts sold for lost, broken or defective pieces. Two outside parties put questions directly to PlanToys and got substantive answers back, one on wood additives and one on the lead values recorded in the test reports; written warranty terms are not published on the brand's own pages.
