Key Features

Certifications

    • FSC Certified

    Certified by Forest Stewardship Council

FSC certification traces wood and paper-based materials in a product back through the supply chain to forests managed under FSC's standards.

    What it checks

    • Chain of custody tracking of wood/fibre from certified forests through manufacturing
    • Forest management practices checked against FSC standards (100%, Recycled, or Mix sourcing labels)
    • Auditing of certificate holders and monitoring of forest management organizations
    • Traceability tools such as blockchain-based tracking of certified material

What it does not cover This label addresses forest sourcing and traceability of wood/paper materials; it does not test or certify the safety, chemical content, or performance of a finished product.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

85 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Build Durability 85

The cards are high-quality and durable after real use, and the boards are printed on thick, sturdy laminated board, though no long-term structural-survival testing or method is described.

Developmental Claim Honesty 85

The lacing cards build hand-eye coordination, motor skills, dexterity and color identification, tied to the actual lacing action, though no method or independent corroboration supports these specific developmental claims for this product.

Toy Safety Compliance 78

The product listing makes no mention of ASTM F963 or CPSIA testing, and no compliance trail for this lacing-card set is published anywhere we could find. The brand is an identifiable, retail-distributed manufacturer, so this gap reflects non-publication rather than non-compliance.

Age Grading & Choking Safety 85

The set is labeled ages 3+ consistently, and toddlers as young as 2 have used the cards under supervision. No small-parts warning language appears, and no outside source confirms the age fit.

Recall History 92

We queried the CPSC recall database directly and found two past recalls: 2021 wooden tray puzzles (choking hazard, Fast Track/voluntary, no injuries) and 2024 Tummy Time Gallery (phthalates, voluntary, no injuries). Neither covers this lacing-cards product or line, both were remedied with no reported injuries.

Certification Credibility 90

The lacing cards are printed on FSC Certified paper board, a named standard asserted for the finished product, though no certificate number or registry link is given and no supporting detail accompanies the claim.

Transparency & Support 84

The materials are described only as thick, laminated FSC paper board with eco-friendly inks; country of manufacture, supplier, and any warranty or repair terms for this product are not published anywhere we found.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Customers describe the lacing cards as high quality and engaging, with young children staying focused for extended stretches of play.
Several reviewers note the cards work well across a range of ages, with older siblings helping younger ones learn to lace.
At least one customer feels the set is a bit overpriced for what it includes.

My granddaughter picked these up and didn't do anything but lace for half an hour. She is 2 1/2. Best toy ever!
Margaret
High quality, durable and adorable
Maureen Cremaldi
Our 2 and 3 year old granddaughters enjoy the cards. They are young and just leaning how to do it. Our 8 year old granddaughter is the expert and shows them how to stitch. Even our 9 year old grandson did one!
Mary Beth Pinto
