The composition is exact — 100% organic cotton, GOTS-certified, with no synthetic blend — and the provenance is named: cotton grown in India and the garment made in Indian GOTS-certified factories. The same 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton figure appears consistently wherever the romper and its siblings are sold, with no conflicting fibre content, so there is no synthetic base layer behind a natural-fibre description. No certificate number backs the organic status.

The fastening is designed around a mouthing-age child: a two-way zipper with a safety tab cover at the neck and a tiny zipper "pocket" at the ankle that encloses the pull, ribbed wrists and ankles, tagless construction, and no cords, ties or appliqués at the neck. Across 13 customer reviews there are no reports of detached parts; one buyer reports the fabric clasp over the zipper tearing within a month, a durability complaint rather than a released small part. No snap-retention or use-and-abuse test results are published.

The dyes on this romper are azo-free and GOTS-certified, and no azo dyes that release carcinogenic amine compounds are used on these garments. The base is 100% organic cotton rather than a synthetic, so disperse dyes are not in play. No aromatic-amine screening results are published for the dyed fabric.

No certificate or licence number is published for the garment.

We queried the full CPSC recall corpus on saferproducts.gov — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — and L'ovedbaby appears nowhere in it, in any role, at any date. The same corpus returns hundreds of records for comparable juvenile categories, so the clean result reflects the brand's absence rather than a query that missed.

GOTS certification covers the finished romper itself — 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton together with GOTS-certified dyes, trims and snaps/zippers — and the Indian factories that sew it are GOTS-certified and regularly monitored. The exclusions that follow are spelled out: no toxic heavy metals, no formaldehyde, no aromatic solvents, no GMO fibre, and no PVC, nickel or chrome in the trims. No licence or certificate number is published alongside the claim.

The romper carries no easy-care, wrinkle-resistant, non-iron, stain-resistant or water-repellent treatment or marketing — care is simply machine wash warm, tumble dry low, and the garment is cut long precisely because untreated cotton shrinks. Formaldehyde is named and excluded under the GOTS terms applied to these garments, and no chemical flame retardants are used; daywear meets CPSC flammability through fabric weight instead. Water- and stain-repellent finishes are not addressed by name anywhere.

Care guidance is published and consistent everywhere it appears: machine wash warm, tumble dry low, with the romper cut long because organic cotton shrinks on the first machine wash and dry, and line drying recommended to keep the original length. What is missing is an instruction to wash the garment before first wear — the first-wash guidance is framed around fit and shrinkage rather than as a pre-wash step to remove residual sizing.

Composition and provenance are both public: 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, with the cotton sourced and the garment ethically made in India. The individual mills, the sewing facilities and the manufacturing partner's name are not disclosed, and there is no workmanship warranty.

The zipper, snaps and trims are lead-free, chrome-free and nickel-free and carry GOTS certification, with PVC, nickel and chrome prohibited in trims, and the dyes are azo-free. Crimson is a solid colourway with no thick raised plastisol print, the neck has a zipper safety tab cover and the ankle a small zipper pocket, and the garment is tagless. No heavy-metal test results for the hardware are published.
