Key Features

Certifications

    • OEKO-TEX Certified

    Certified by OEKO-TEX (Standard 100)

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certifies that every component of a textile item has been lab-tested and found free of harmful substances above set limits.

    What it checks

    • Testing of yarn, fabric, buttons, and other accessories against a list of over 1,000 regulated substances
    • Stricter chemical limits for products with more intensive skin contact, including a dedicated infant/toddler product class
    • Compliance with chemical regulations such as REACH, CPSIA, and the ECHA-SVHC candidate list
    • Annual review of substance limit values and one-year validity per certificate

What it does not cover It tests for chemical residues only and does not certify general product safety features like choking hazards, flammability, or mechanical construction.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

85 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Accessory Material Chemistry 84

The canopy fabric is named as OEKO-TEX certified, but the foot muff's water-resistant exterior shell carries no PFAS-free statement, and no PVC or phthalate disclosure is made for either component.

Safety Standard Compliance 84

Eligible Orbit Baby products carry Baby Safety Alliance (JPMA) verification covering ASTM standards with annual retesting, but this canopy-and-foot-muff bundle is not individually named as carrying that certification, and no test result or lab report is published for it specifically.

Attachment Security 83

The canopy is stated to fit the G2, G3 and G5 Stroller Seat, but no rated load, attachment mechanism detail, or hands-on mount-security testing is published for either the canopy or the foot muff.

Recall History 92

We queried the CPSC recall registry directly and found no record for Orbit Baby anywhere in it. Separately, the brand voluntarily recalled a car seat base years ago over a knob defect, reported no injuries, and issued a free repair kit — a different product category than this canopy and foot muff bundle.

Textile & Foam Chemistry 87

Its stroller and car seat textiles are OEKO-TEX certified and free of pesticides and toxic chemicals, and an independent outlet notes some Orbit Baby seat fabrics use naturally flame-retardant-free merino wool — but neither claim is tied specifically to this canopy or foot muff.

Tip-Over Loading Guidance 78

Neither the canopy nor the foot muff states a maximum handlebar load or carries a tip-over caution; the bundle description covers fit, materials and dimensions only.

Certification Credibility 91

The canopy fabric is named as OEKO-TEX certified, and Orbit Baby's eligible products carry Baby Safety Alliance (formerly JPMA) verification with annual retesting across ASTM standards and chemical limits. No certificate number is published for this accessory.

Reachable Small Parts 78

No statement addresses whether the canopy's grab-bar upholstery, harness pads or foot muff's adjustable fastenings include small detachable parts within a seated child's reach.

Transparency & Support 91

Orbit Baby publishes a concrete two-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, with stated exclusions (non-approved accessories, products bought before 2019 or outside the G5 series) and a defined claims process, plus a manuals library for assembly and use. Country of manufacture and supplier are not published.
