The G5+ Toddler Car Seat is a convertible seat built for toddlers from 15 to 65 lbs and up to 53 inches tall, moving from rear-facing to forward-facing as a child grows. Its 360-degree SmartHub rotation turns the seat toward the car door for loading, and it docks directly onto the G5 and X5 strollers without an adapter. The seat is deep and contoured, with a 5-point harness and magnetic buckle holders that keep the harness clear of the child while climbing in.

The shell is lined with EPP foam for cushioning, and side impact braces are included in the box along with a head support insert, a sun canopy and a cup holder. The fabric cover is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified and made without added flame-retardant chemicals, and it is machine washable and easy to remove for cleaning. The seat is LATCH compatible and passes FMVSS 302 and FMVSS 213 safety tests, and it is certified for use in aircraft without the base when using seat belts and the side impact braces.

The seat can be used with or without a separate Orbit Baby car seat base, and it is compatible only with the G5 and X5 strollers.

The only minor thing I’d change would be that the G5 toddler seat needs a recline feature possibly in the next model. I noticed when my son falls asleep (2 year old) his head tends to fall forward due to him sitting straight up, if I could lean it a bit especially while he’s attached to the stroller that would be awesome! Other than that it’s all around very convenient with the immense amount of attachments and the fact it’s a seat I’ll be able to use long term, I started with the G5 infant seat/stroller/bassinet combo when we first found out and I’ve been extremely happy thus far! It was great being able to just buy a new seat without having to get a whole new stroller base! Well worth the investment.

We got this car seat for our fourth child. So I’m pretty aware of what’s out there and this is by far the best one. The size is great I feel like my baby is protected and comfortable. Also it’s really nice and practical. We had her facing rear and the convenience of being able to rotate her was amazing.
