The happy utensils are the right size for my grandson’s hands. The material is durable and easy to clean. I do wash them by hand but can put them in your dishwasher, which my daughter loves.

I’m a huge fan of EZPZ products, especially because of how thoughtfully they’re designed for not only development, but also for safety. That’s why ultimately I decided to purchase these for my 2 year old, but I’m extremely disappointed that these are made of plastic. The handle is silicone just like the baby version, but the top part is made of plastic. Not only does it feel cheap, but that’s the part that actually goes into my baby’s mouth and it touches the food. It says BPA free, but it does not specify whether the plastic is also free of BPS and BPF which are manufacturer alternatives to BPA that are just as, if not more harmful. I’m on the lookout for a better alternative and hate that I have to look for it from a different company. I feel that EZPZ can do better when it comes to this specific product and I sincerely hope they work to reformulate this set in a way that does not include harmful plastics. Our babies deserve better!

Only the handles are silicone. The actual part that goes into the child's mouth (the mouthpiece: aka the part that really matters) is made from Nylon. The description of it being 100% silicone and nylon is very deceptive. Due to the way in which the nylon mouthpiece part of the utensil is connected to the silicone handle, I just don't see that lasting long. For that reason, I would refrain from placing these upside down with the silicone handle side up. Also, depending on which color you have (I bought 4 different colors), the mouthpiece of the utensil is completely discolored. You can't tell by the photos but the sage utensils have the most obvious color and texture mismatch.
