Ice Cream Rattle

All of the toys, rattles included, are tested and certified to ASTM F963 and EN 71, and the sound element is a HIPS plastic casing filled with GPPS beads. Nothing addresses the rattle-specific rule, though: there is no statement on the minimum size and shape that keeps a rattle out of an infant's throat, no pellet-retention result if the casing were to separate, and no test method or lab result published for this rattle.

The sound element is a HIPS plastic casing filled with GPPS beads sewn inside the organic cotton body, and the decorative details are embroidered stitching rather than attached parts, so there is no glued-on eye or bead to work loose. Nothing states that the bead capsule is permanently sealed within the plush, no drop or use-and-abuse result is published, no sound level is given, and there is no customer feedback yet on how the seams and capsule hold up over months of shaking and washing.

Every material a baby's mouth reaches is named: a GOTS-certified organic cotton shell, corn-fibre and organic cotton fill, dye that is low-impact, azo-free and certified to OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100, and a HIPS casing with GPPS beads that are non-toxic, phthalate-free and lead-free. The rattle is BPA-free and phthalate-free, and no flame-retardant materials are used.

The toys are mandatorily tested to governmental safety standards in the US, Canada, Australia and Europe and carry ASTM F963 and EN 71 certification, naming the standard that governs US toy safety rather than gesturing at safety generally. No Children's Product Certificate or lab report is published for this rattle, which is ordinary practice since those documents go to retailers rather than shoppers.

This rattle carries no age grade and no small-parts or choking statement — only dimensions, materials and copy describing it as a gift for a new arrival — even though materials and size are otherwise disclosed in detail. Apple Park's other soft and teething rattles are graded 0m+, so nothing conflicts, but the Ice Cream Rattle itself is unlabelled.

We queried the full CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records spanning 1973 to August 2026 — and found a single entry for this brand: a 2013 recall of children's loungewear for violating the federal flammability standard. That was apparel rather than toys, thirteen years ago, and nothing has been filed since against the plush or doll lines.

All of Apple Park's toys are tested and carry ASTM F963 and EN 71 safety certification — a named standard asserted for the finished toy rather than for one part of it. The GOTS certification attaches to the organic cotton and the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification to the low-impact fabric dye, so those two are material-level, and no licence or certificate numbers are published for any of them.

The materials are published component by component: a GOTS-certified organic cotton shell, corn-fibre and organic cotton fill, OEKO-TEX 100 certified low-impact azo-free dye, and HIPS casings with GPPS beads in the rattle mechanism. Products are designed in San Francisco and manufactured in China; the factory is not named and no warranty term is published.
