CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

85 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Attachment Security 84

The cover is designed to perfectly fit the Infant Car Seat and Bassinet with front ventilation and a clear view, but no rated load, fastening mechanism or frame-shape fit detail is published, and no independent hands-on test of mount security exists.

Accessory Material Chemistry 84

The cover is stated to be 100% PVC-free, which addresses one chemical concern directly, but no PFAS statement for the water-resistant shell, no named fabric, and no OEKO-TEX or other certificate is published for the cover itself.

Safety Standard Compliance 79

The car seats this cover fits comply with FMVSS 302/213 and carry Baby Safety Alliance (formerly JPMA) verification covering ASTM standards and chemical limits, but no compliance trail or CPSIA tracking label is published specifically for the rain cover accessory itself.

Recall History 92

No recall of this product appears in the CPSC recall database (10,053 records, 1973-2026). Orbit Baby's record holds two voluntary car seat base recalls: the 2013 G2 base, whose StrongArm knob could detach or spin without tightening, and a 2017 G3 base labeling issue in Canada, both remedied with free repair kits and no injuries reported. Neither covers the Infant Car Seat and Bassinet Rain Cover.

Textile & Foam Chemistry 84

The rain cover is 100% PVC-free, but no PFAS-free statement, fabric composition, or test method is published for this accessory specifically; the OEKO-TEX and BFR-free claims on file apply to car seat and stroller textiles, not this cover.

Certification Credibility 93

A regulator compliance record shows FMVSS 213 testing was actually conducted on an Orbit Baby infant car seat model, with test reports and a compliance letter referenced. This goes beyond the brand's own claim of ASTM/JPMA testing by pointing to an independently-run government test file.

Reachable Small Parts 77

Nothing is published about zipper pulls, toggles, or decorative hardware on the rain cover, and no independent inspection or review corpus addresses small detachable parts within the baby's reach while covered.

Transparency & Support 91

The brand publishes a concrete two-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects, with stated exclusions (non-approved accessories, pre-2019 or non-G5 products) and a manuals library for assembly and use of accessories like this cover.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Customers say the rain cover is easy to use and keeps their baby dry even in heavy rain.
Reviewers mention that the clear visibility lets their baby see out and stay content while covered.
Several customers describe the cover as fitting well, including on older model car seats and bassinets.
Customers frequently describe the rain cover as a worthwhile, highly recommended accessory for rainy-day outings.

We absolutely love our Orbit Baby car seat and stroller travel system. The ease and convenience of travel is so much easier. One item I cannot recommend enough is the rain cover— It fits like a glove and is so useful on those coastal Carolina rainy days. We bring it with us always. The running stroller is also great quality. It has a unique and modern feel while offering the smoothest ride for our baby.

I got so much comments on this cover it’s crazy I love it and my baby loves it it’s easy to use
Love B.
Last weekend was pouring! We used the rain cover for the first time. Although my husband and I were wet despite our double width umbrella, our baby girl was completely dry. It provides complete protection without suffocating her. She can also see us clearly through it so it keeps her at ease. Highly recommended accessory!
