Key Features

Certifications

    • FSC Certified

    Certified by Forest Stewardship Council

FSC certification traces wood and paper-based materials in a product back through the supply chain to forests managed under FSC's standards.

    What it checks

    • Chain of custody tracking of wood/fibre from certified forests through manufacturing
    • Forest management practices checked against FSC standards (100%, Recycled, or Mix sourcing labels)
    • Auditing of certificate holders and monitoring of forest management organizations
    • Traceability tools such as blockchain-based tracking of certified material

What it does not cover This label addresses forest sourcing and traceability of wood/paper materials; it does not test or certify the safety, chemical content, or performance of a finished product.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

89 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Component Age Safety 91

The component inventory is flat acorn-shaped cards only — no dice, tokens or spinners — consistent across retailers, and the 3+ age label sits above the toddler small-parts concern threshold for this component type.

Component Quality 84

The cards are thick, roughly 3/16-inch pressed board that has held up over months of repeated play with 4- and 5-year-olds, and a magnet-closure box that resists crushing, corroborating the brand's sturdiness claim, though no formal durability test is cited.

Play Value Honesty 92

Reviewers confirm the game plays as described at the marketed 3+ age, with a 3-year-old successfully matching pairs and a family reporting weekly play for three months, corroborating the brand's adjustable-difficulty and memory-building claims.

Toy Safety Compliance 84

Its products are fully CPSIA compliant and certified to US and UKCA standards, and are tested for phthalates, lead and soluble metals, but ASTM F963 is never named and no test method or lab result is given for this game specifically.

Age Grading & Choking Safety 91

The age grading of 3+ is consistent across retailer listings and matches a card-only component set with no small parts. A brand-suggested face-up mode for younger children does not change the labeled age or components.

Recall History 92

We queried the CPSC recall registry directly and found two Wee Gallery recalls on file, both voluntary with no injuries reported: a 2021 wooden tray puzzle choking recall and a 2024 phthalates recall on a tummy-time product. Neither covers this memory game or its card-based product line.

Certification Credibility 91

The card stock is FSC-certified paperboard, a named, falsifiable material standard, though no certificate number is published. The brand separately claims CPSIA compliance and UKCA certification for its products generally.

Transparency & Support 84

The cards are disclosed as FSC-certified paperboard with soy-based inks, but country of manufacture, supplier, and any warranty or replacement-parts route for this specific game are not published; manufacturing-location disclosure only appears for unrelated recalled product lines.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Customers frequently praise the thick, sturdy card material, describing it as far more durable than typical paper memory games.
Many customers say their toddlers and young children enjoy the game repeatedly and that it supports early cognitive and matching skills.
A few reviewers mention that the cards can tear or get worn with rough handling from very young or destructive children.
Some customers note the cards are larger than expected, which they find easier for small hands to grip and flip.

This is a fun little memory game with great style and well designed durability - the essentials for a game that's great for kids! The first thing that caught my eye with this game was the size of the cards - a pleasant surprise. Although the box does have an "actual size" image on it, I wasn't quite of sure of the scale just based on the product listing photos. The cards are nicely sized for easy interaction, making them perfect for the target 3+ age range. The hand-drawn are stye is fun and approachable, as is the unique acorn card shape. The entire stylized look makes the game very visually appealing, and really adds an element of fun to what could be an otherwise simple game. The set has a cohesive feel that conveys a sense of quality, and speaks to the thought that went into the product design. That same quality extends to the durability of the cards, and the thick compressed-cardboard material that they're printed on. It's a kit that's easy to travel with, and the nature of the game allows for both solo and family oriented styles of play.

Like most families with small children, we have several different memory games. Most of ours are playing cards and another is a set of small wooden tiles. Then there's this game, which has 3" x 3" (standard post-it note size), super thick 3/16", pressed board acorns. Seriously these memory tiles are durable! My boys, ages 4 and 5 have wrecked pretty much every playing card memory game we have because they fold and tare so easily. And they always wreck the boxes trying to put the cards back into them, so we end up losing several cards. The box this game comes in is probably one of the nicest quality boxes I've ever seen a game come in, aside from those that come in tins. The box is laminated pressed board, about the same thickness as the acorns, and it even has a magnetic flap closure! I love that this won't get crushed in our game cabinet when others are stacked on top of it or if we bring it along on a trip. It's also really nice that our young kids can easily open and close the lid so they can play this with each other without any help from us. Lastly, I am surprised at how much my kids actually play this game! They played our other ones maybe 3 times and haven't touched them since. We've had this game for 3 months now and it still gets played weekly!

We love this memory game. The pieces are shaped like little acorns and are made in a thick chip board like materail. The images on the front are so well done that is makes playing the game all the more great. Thank you for such as fun looking memory game.
