The jumpsuit closes with front wooden buttons in a relaxed one-piece silhouette, with no neck cords, ties or decorative appliqués. Button attachment strength, seam construction and small-parts testing after use and abuse are not published, which is the one gap in an otherwise detailed materials and chemistry disclosure.

We queried the complete CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — and Makemake Organics appears nowhere in it, in any role, at any date. Control counts in the same corpus show children's product classes are well covered, so the clean result reflects the brand's record rather than a failed search.

Makemake Organics is a GOTS licensed brand under licence number IDFL 010673, issued by IDFL Laboratory and Institute, and this jumpsuit is 100% GOTS certified organic cotton muslin crafted in a GOTS certified factory in India, carrying an IDFL mark. Fair Trade and OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 are also claimed, but for those two no certificate number or issuing body is published.

The jumpsuit is declared free of PFAS, formaldehyde, flame retardants and phthalates, and it is not marketed as easy-care, wrinkle-resistant, non-iron, stain-resistant or water-repellent — care is a gentle machine wash and a cool iron, the opposite of a durable-press finish. Care guidance for this jumpsuit is detailed and specific: machine wash on gentle, do not bleach, iron on cool, tumble dry on low and remove promptly, with mild plant-based detergent and wool dryer balls suggested instead of fabric softener. The fibre content, the GOTS certifier, and the country of manufacture are all published — designed in Florida, sewn in India where the organic cotton is grown. The factory itself is not named, and no warranty is offered.

The closure uses wooden buttons rather than unverified metal hardware, which sidesteps the nickel and lead question, and the dyes are azo-free and water-based with no phthalates. The patterning method for the check and cross designs is not published, nor is any heavy-metal or small-parts test result covering the buttons themselves.
