CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

83 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Component & Mechanical Safety 84

The tent uses wood poles and plastic connectors with a door that opens and closes, but no cord-safety, pinch-point, or stability testing is named anywhere; one reviewer also reports the entrance-bar poles coming loose at the bottom.

Construction Durability 87

Reviewers broadly call the tent sturdy and quality, but two separately note the mesh windows may tear under a climbing toddler's weight and the entrance poles can come loose, concerns the brand acknowledges only through a thank-you reply rather than a published fix.

Material & Finish Safety 80

The canvas, wood and plastic connectors are named but described only as 'premium look + feel' and 'soft, sturdy construction,' with no finish, paint, or chemical-safety claim and no named standard for this product.

Toy Safety Compliance 78

No CPSIA or ASTM F963 compliance claim is published for the Play Tent itself; the brand's CPSIA language is scoped only to mats and soft-play products. Gathre is an identifiable, retail-distributed manufacturer, so non-publication here reflects a gap in disclosure rather than non-compliance.

Age Grading & Choking Safety 74

Target's own listing sets the age at 3 Years and Up, but the brand markets and reviewers confirm use well under that age — a 16-month-old, a 19-month-old, a one-year-old — with no small-parts warning anywhere on the brand's pages for this product.

Recall History 95

We queried the complete CPSC recall database (10,047 records, 1973-2026) for this brand and found nothing filed against it, in any role. A control search confirms toys, cribs and strollers are well represented in that corpus, so the clean result reflects the brand's absence rather than a weak search.

Certification Credibility 84

CPSIA compliance is named for the brand's mats and soft-play products specifically, but the Play Tent falls under pretend-play, a category the brand explicitly says has different, product-page-specific testing it does not detail. No standard, lab, or test result is named for the tent itself.

Transparency & Support 84

The tent's materials are named only generically (cotton canvas, wood, plastic connectors) with no supplier, country of manufacture, or warranty terms published, and the brand directs shoppers to check individually rather than disclosing centrally.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Customers frequently describe the tent as high quality, sturdy, and good-looking enough to fit their home decor.
Many reviewers say their kids use the tent constantly for imaginative play, from reading nooks to pretend shops and hideouts.
Several reviewers mention the tent is roomy enough for multiple children, or even an adult, to sit inside comfortably.
Reviewers often note that assembly is quick and easy.
Some customers worry the window openings could tear over time from kids climbing or hanging on them, and a couple suggest reinforcing them.
A reviewer mentioned the entrance poles occasionally come loose at the bottom.

Adorable. Nice quality and so easy to put together!

My kids absolutely love it so easy to put together and amazing quality!
Mackenzie h.
This is the play tent of my childhood dreams! I’m definitely living vicariously through my kids with this tent- it’s huge and comfortable fits two to three kiddos! It’s also so versatile- we use it as a ‘vet clinic’, ‘secret hide out’, ‘calm down corner’, ‘ninja base camp’, ‘reading nook’… the list goes on! As other reviewers mentioned, the windows get stretched out a bit from kiddos climbing in and out frequently, but I think that’s inevitable with an item like this. It’s held up so well, regardless!
