CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

91 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Fragrance-Free Verification 79

This wash is a scented product, so there is no fragrance-free claim to stand behind: a natural origin fragrance sits in the formula and the scent is one of the reasons buyers choose it. The scent is at least fully declared rather than hidden behind 'parfum' — triethyl citrate, gamma nonalactone, gamma octalactone, gamma decalactone and vanillin are each named with a rating — and the fragrance-free formulas sit in the separate baby line instead.

Surfactant Type 91

The cleansing system is entirely glucoside and mild-amphoteric chemistry, named in the published list: sodium laurylglucosides hydroxypropylsulfonate, coco-glucoside, cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine and sodium methyl cocoyl taurate, with no sulfates anywhere in the formula. Each cleanser's raw source and US state of manufacture is published, and the wash is pH-balanced at 5.5, ophthalmologist-tested and tear-free.

Formulation Safety 92

The full ingredient list is published and contains none of the non-negotiable exclusions: no parabens, no formaldehyde releasers, no triclosan, no talc and no sunscreen filters, with preservation handled by glyceryl caprylate and caprylhydroxamic acid. An explicit free-from statement covers sulfates, parabens, phthalates, liquid plastics, artificial dyes and synthetic fragrance, and the scent is not a hidden blend — its five components are each named individually.

1,4-Dioxane Contamination Risk 91

The complete ten-ingredient list contains no PEG compounds and no '-eth' ethoxylated surfactants — the cleansers are glucosides and a taurate, which are not made by ethoxylation — so the usual 1,4-dioxane route into a rinse-off cleanser is absent by formulation. No 1,4-dioxane batch testing is published.

Preservative System 91

Preservation is named in the published list and rests on glyceryl caprylate working with caprylhydroxamic acid, with citric acid holding pH at 5.5 — no formaldehyde releasers, no methylisothiazolinone and no parabens. Shelf life is 3 years unopened and 1 year after opening.

Recall History 97

We queried the full CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — and Dabble & Dollop appears nowhere in it, in any role, at any date. A control check in the same corpus returned hundreds of records across comparable children's product classes, so the clean result reflects the brand's absence rather than a query that missed.

Certification Credibility 95

Dabble & Dollop is listed in the Leaping Bunny Program's own directory of certified cruelty-free companies, certified since 2020, so the brand's cruelty-free claim resolves with the certifier. The certification is held at company level and does not name this product individually. The dermatologist, ophthalmologist and tear-free testing claims name no lab or protocol.

Certification Rigor 93

Beyond the brand's own claim, we found this wash's EWG Verified status carried in a major retailer's own product data on its Amazon listing, alongside the Leaping Bunny cruelty-free status and vegan formulation. That retailer-side compliance listing is separate from the brand simply asserting the badge on its own packaging or site.

Transparency & Support 92

Disclosure here is unusually detailed for the category: the complete ingredient list is published, each ingredient carries a function, a raw source and the US state it is made in, and the products are formulated and manufactured in California from US and globally sourced ingredients. The contract manufacturer is not named.

Ingredient Transparency 92

The formula runs to ten ingredients — water, four glucoside-family cleansers, glycerin, glyceryl caprylate, caprylhydroxamic acid, citric acid and the scent — and the scent itself is broken out into its five named components rather than left as 'fragrance'. It is also a genuine consolidation, doing shampoo, body wash and bubble bath in one bottle, which cuts product count rather than adding steps.

I found out about this brand from TYB, and I am so glad I did! I love that this is a clean product safe for my daughter's sensitive skin, and the scent is SO GOOD! Lots of bubbles too!
SB
My grandson loved the smell. Also, the fact that it didn’t hurt his eyes.
Deb
I did not like this soap it dried out the skin I also noted there’s no moisturizing ingredients in this soap to keep the skin soft after cleansing needs to be reformulated and add some kind of moisturizer like avocado oil or vitamin E or Allantoin
Robert B.
Bought this because of Instagram moms…. don’t think I would buy again. Can barely smell lemon works as a soap but didn’t clean either of my girls hair looked so oily. My older girl said this soap and conditioner we bought were very hard to pump on her own
