CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

85 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Sound Level & Battery Safety 83

The Animal Metronome runs on two AA batteries behind a screw-secured, Phillips-screwdriver battery box, which is a positive concrete detail, but no volume limit, decibel spec, or acoustic test result is published for this set.

Toy Safety Compliance 78

Lovevery is an identifiable, retail-distributed manufacturer.

Mouthing Material Safety 84

The instruments are made with water-based, nontoxic paint and sustainably harvested wood, and reviewers report mouthing use without chipping or odor complaints, but no lead or phthalate test method or result is published for this specific set.

Musical Function Durability 91

Reviews from this product's own corpus consistently describe sturdy build quality and continued daily use over many months across a wide age range, with only minor gripes about limited musical notes rather than dead units or breakage.

Age Grading & Choking Safety 84

Reviews confirm the set is used across a wide range of ages (12 to 36+ months) with no reported detached-part incidents for this product, but no small-parts warning is cited specifically for The Music Set's own pieces like the bells and flute.

Recall History 92

We queried the CPSC recall registry directly and found two Lovevery recalls, both for other products (a drinking cup and a ball run), both voluntary, both remedied with free replacements, and neither reporting injuries. This product itself has no recall history.

Certification Credibility 87

The wood used across Lovevery's product line is FSC-certified, a claim made by a third-party reviewer, but this certification is scoped to the wood sourcing rather than asserted for The Music Set as a finished product.

Transparency & Support 84

The Music Set's materials are listed as real wood, soy-based ink, child-safe plastics, steel and stainless steel, with care instructions per piece, but country of manufacture and warranty terms for this specific product are not published on the brand's own pages.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Many customers describe the set as high quality and well made, with several planning to hand it down to future children.
Customers frequently mention that children of different ages, from toddlers to preschoolers, engage with the instruments and enjoy playing them together as a family.
Some reviewers highlight the Rhythm & Songs Book and Play Guide as effective for teaching music basics to both children and parents.
Some customers note that the instruments only cover five notes (the pentatonic scale), which they find limits playing full or familiar songs.
Opinions on price are mixed: several reviewers call it worth every penny, while others feel the set is overpriced given how long children stay engaged with it.
Reviewers note that younger toddlers can engage with some instruments right away, such as the bells, while others like the flute or concertina require more developed skills to use.

Our 3 yr old grandson took up the various instruments with great enthusiasm. The kit is designed with excellent quality, thoughtful presentation and easy engagement. As a musician/teacher I could see there is plenty of room to grow into the extensive activities. Just picking them up and improvising together is quality time for the little ones discovery. Parent guides are helpful but it’s easy to find your way. We highly recommend this kit, so well built will last for siblings to come!

I am very pleased with the quality of the items. They will be handed down through the generations of grandchildren.

Wow! This music set is so much better than I expected it to be. I have another music set, but it’s more of a toy whereas this set truly teaches not just your child, but also the parents the basics of creating music. It really has blown me away with the quality and content received. This really is a must buy set for your little ones! You will not regret it!

While the toys are good, they are DEFINITELY not worth the ~ 250 CAD you end up paying per kit. Kids are engaged with them for a few weeks, maybe a month or so, before they move on. And some of them are just plain overpriced. For eg. the Music set. Again, a great idea but not at this price point. I stopped after a while.
Sathyanarayan V.
The design of pentatonic bells feel incomplete. The rhymes are quite shorter. It could have been set of 8 bells in pentatonic instrument. To give more space for rhythm as care givers play along.
