Cherry on Top® Hair Conditioner

This conditioner is deliberately scented and is not fragrance-free: a natural-origin cherry fragrance is part of the formula. The scent is disclosed rather than masked — natural vanillin, orange extract and raspberry ketone are named — synthetic fragrance is excluded across the range, and the brand's separate baby line is the fragrance-free option; what is missing is any allergen constituent declaration or a fragrance-free version of this product.

The complete formula is published and contains no sulfates: conditioning comes from behentrimonium methosulfate, a behenic-acid quaternary that is not a sulfate despite the name, with cetearyl alcohol and hydroxyethylcellulose providing structure. Sulfates are excluded across the whole range, and there is no cleansing surfactant in this product at all.

The complete nine-ingredient formula is published — water, cetearyl alcohol, behentrimonium methosulfate, jojoba seed oil, glycerin, caprylhydroxamic acid, glyceryl caprylate, hydroxyethylcellulose and a natural-origin fragrance whose components are named — with none of the avoid-list substances present: no undisclosed 'fragrance' or 'parfum', no parabens, no formaldehyde releasers, no triclosan, no talc and no chemical sunscreen filters. Sulfates, phthalates, artificial dyes and synthetic fragrance are excluded across the range.

The published formula carries no PEG- or '-eth'-named ethoxylated ingredients; the nine ingredients are water, cetearyl alcohol, behentrimonium methosulfate, jojoba seed oil, glycerin, caprylhydroxamic acid, glyceryl caprylate, hydroxyethylcellulose and the named fragrance. No 1,4-dioxane residue testing is published for the finished conditioner.

The preservative system is named in the published formula — caprylhydroxamic acid working with glyceryl caprylate to prevent bacteria, yeast and mould growth — with no formaldehyde releasers, no methylisothiazolinone and no parabens anywhere in the range. Shelf life is given as 3 years unopened and 1 year after opening.

We queried the complete CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — and Dabble & Dollop appears nowhere in it, in any role or at any date. Controls run in the same corpus return hundreds of records for comparable children's product classes, so the clean result reflects the brand's absence rather than a failed search.

Every formula is 100% vegan and certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny, and the scent blends are made to ISO 9235 with natural-origin ingredients made to ISO 16128. No licence or certificate number is published for any of these, and the dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested and tear-free claims are made for the washes rather than for this conditioner.

The certification here is Leaping Bunny cruelty-free, which covers animal testing rather than ingredient safety, and the ISO 9235 and ISO 16128 natural-origin claims are self-declared compliance with no auditor or certificate named. The brand holds neither EWG VERIFIED nor MADE SAFE, and says plainly that all-green ingredient ratings do not make a product EWG Verified.

The full nine-ingredient formula is published alongside a glossary giving each ingredient's function, EWG rating and US state of manufacture, and the product is formulated and manufactured in California from US and globally sourced ingredients. An independent children's retailer describes the same ingredient minimalism and fully disclosed fragrances. The contract manufacturer is not named.
