CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

83 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Heavy-Metal Testing & Disclosure 76

The only per-batch testing described checks powder clumping and flow, not heavy metals, and no lead, cadmium, arsenic or mercury values are published or referenced for this oat-based formula.

Food-Contact Material Safety 77

No polymer type or bisphenol-free scope is disclosed for any packaging or feeding equipment that contacts this powder, and sterilization guidance for bottles and utensils is given without naming the materials involved.

Category & Age-Claim Honesty 72

This toddler drink for children over 12 months is repeatedly called a 'toddler formula' and even positioned as a replacement for breastfeeding, the exact naming and merchandising the pediatric guidance on these products warns against.

Heat & Wear Behavior 77

No shedding or migration testing at preparation temperature is published, and no replacement schedule is given for any container or feeding equipment associated with this powder.

Recall History 97

We queried the CPSC recall database (9,969 records, 1973-2026) directly for this brand and found nothing filed against it, in any role. The same corpus returns hundreds of hits for comparable product classes, confirming the check itself works.

Preparation & Contamination Guidance 91

The brand gives concrete numbers: a 4-week opened-can discard window, a 1-hour discard for leftover mixed formula, 24-hour refrigerated storage for made-up formula, and boiling-water sterilization timing, though it lacks an explicit numeric water temperature for mixing.

Certification Credibility 93

We found that Clean Label Project independently certified Haven Nutrition, listing it among brands that met its 400+ contaminant testing panel, which corroborates a real third-party certification beyond the brand's own vague quality-standard claims.

Transparency & Support 91

The product is designed in New Zealand but manufactured in the USA, giving a clear country-of-manufacture disclosure. As a consumable for vulnerable toddlers, no separate warranty or spare-parts route applies to this food product.

Ingredient & Sourcing Transparency 91

The full ingredient list is published, oat powder origin (USA) and protein origin (Scandinavia) are named, no artificial sugars are added, palm oil is deliberately excluded, and the brand explicitly states it is not certified organic rather than making a vague claim.

Packaging Migration 77

No packaging material is named for the can or its lining, and no bisphenol- or phthalate-free statement covers the tin, liner or seal despite guidance referencing the foil seal and lot number location.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Customers mention their toddlers like the taste and adjust well to it, including during the transition from infant to toddler feeding.
Some reviewers say the formula is easy to mix and dissolves well, and note it works for toddlers with cow's milk sensitivities or allergies.
A few reviewers mention the formula tastes too sweet or does not dissolve completely, and one describes a strong smell they found off-putting.
Some customers wish the formula were less sweet or dissolved more easily, though they say their toddlers still tolerate it.
Several reviewers note the can size is small and wish it were larger to last longer, though some still find the price reasonable compared to other plant-based options they tried.

Small can yet is convenient. I have been looking around for an alternative to dairy for my 15 month old. So far this one has been the only one that provides what he needs and is priced nice . Ive tried ripple and kikimilk. Kiki milk was also great but very pricey.

Love this formula! I’ve stated producing less breast milk and we were having a hard time finding a good plant-based formula with good, simple ingredients. Our baby loves this formula. I tried it, and it’s good (unlike the others we’ve tried)! I’m so happy we have this for our boy. Thank you!

Easily dissolved and well tolerated by 1 year old

The smell makes me want to gag. I've tried 3 other plant based formulas, and this one is a no. If I don't like the smell, what makes me want my toddler to drink it. I mixed it half and half lactose free milk, but I could still smell this formula. I do half and half mix when my child is sick or has extra drainage from environmental allergies. I wouldn't buy it again. I wouldn't gift it. I wouldn't recommend it. Sorry but not sorry. It's just not for me and my kid. As a reference, I can taste the differences in various water sources and packaging. I'd rather blend sprouted oats on my own before buying this again.
