Organic Thermal Blanket

This is a single flat 37" square of stretch cotton with an embroidered corner logo: no weighting, no hood, no ties or cords and no hardware, which keeps it clear of the features AAP guidance rules out. Two things are missing from what is published: there is no TOG or warmth rating, and there are no swaddling instructions or hip-healthy guidance for a blanket sold for use from newborn through toddler.

Fibre content is exact and the certifying body is named: 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton with no synthetic blend, in an open thermal knit that stretches from 37" to 45", with the cotton grown in India and the blanket made there. Retailers carrying the brand list the same 100% certified organic cotton content. No certificate number accompanies it.

This is not a fibre-only claim: the finished blanket is GOTS-certified 100% organic cotton, the dyes and trims are GOTS-certified too, and the certification chain runs from farm to mill to finished garment and packaging. No certificate number accompanies the finished item.

We queried the complete CPSC recall corpus — 9,944 records spanning June 1973 to August 2026 — for L'ovedbaby as manufacturer, importer, retailer or product name, and the brand appears nowhere in it. Controls run against the same corpus return 332 crib, 182 stroller and 1,470 toy recalls, so the zero result reflects a clean track record rather than a coverage gap.

This blanket is GOTS-certified 100% organic cotton, and the certification extends to the dyes and trims, with the Indian factories that sew it GOTS-certified for both organic processing and labour practice. The dyes on the blanket are azo-free. No licence or certificate number is published anywhere.

No chemical flame retardants are used, and under GOTS the fabric contains no formaldehyde, aromatic solvents, functional nanoparticles or azo dyes that release carcinogenic amines. Care is plain machine wash warm and tumble dry low, with no easy-care, wrinkle-resistant or non-iron marketing on this blanket. The disclosure stops short of the other half of this question: nothing is said about water- or stain-repellent treatment.
