This mouthing mitten is worn on the hand rather than held, so it stays in place during the early teething window before babies develop the palmar grasp needed to hold a conventional teether. It is designed for ages 0 to 6 months and covers newborn hand care through the height of pre-grasp teething: in the first few months it keeps hands dry instead of soaking through like a cotton scratch mitt, and from around 3 to 6 months its textured silicone surface gives baby something to mouth for gum relief. An adjustable hook-and-loop wrist strap fits newborn through 6-month wrists, and the translucent silicone lets you see hand movement without taking the mitten off.
Each mitten is made of 100% high-purity food-grade silicone, tested to FDA food-contact standards (21 CFR 177.2600), and is free of BPA, PVC, phthalate, lead, latex, and microplastics. It can be chilled in the refrigerator, though not the freezer, for extra soothing on inflamed gums, and a benzocaine-free teething gel or organic teething oil can be applied to the textured surface for the same effect. The mitten is reversible for cleaning and dishwasher safe.
