Key Features

Certifications

    • GOTS Certified Organic

Certified by Global Organic Textile Standard

GOTS certification verifies that a textile product's organic fibre content and its full processing supply chain meet defined organic, environmental and social criteria.

    What it checks

    • Confirms fibres used are certified organic (e.g. cotton, wool, hemp, silk, linen)
    • Checks chemical inputs, wastewater treatment and environmental management during processing
    • Verifies human rights and social due-diligence criteria across the supply chain
    • Requires traceability, annual on-site audits and transaction-based checks at every processing stage

What it does not cover This certification addresses organic fibre content, processing chemicals and supply-chain conditions; it is not a general product safety, flammability, or choking-hazard test.

This certification is held by the brand or manufacturer, not by Birch. We show it because the brand states it for this product. Summarised from the certifying body's own page.

CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

89 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Textile Certification 93

A retailer's own product listing for this specific check cover carries OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification in its own compliance data, and the brand separately asserts GOTS certification for the organic cotton exterior, though the GOTS claim itself is brand voice only.

Changing-Product Compliance 91

The cover is sized to fit a standard 16" x 32" change pad mattress and includes cutouts for the safety straps, keeping the restraint system usable, with elastic edges to keep it secure.

Core & Fill Chemistry 84

The quilted padding is disclosed as polyester fill, which is not polyurethane foam, but no certification, flame-retardant-free statement, or chemistry testing for the fill is published.

Fragrance, Dye & Lotion Free 78

The cover's dye process and any added scent or finish are not addressed anywhere in the materials we reviewed; only the fiber content and pattern are described, with no free-from statement covering fragrance or dyes.

Recall History 97

We queried the complete CPSC recall database (10,047 records, 1973-2026) for Crane Baby and found no recall filed against the brand in any role. The corpus covers diapers, cribs, strollers and other nursery categories, confirming a genuine clean result.

Certification Credibility 93

A retailer's own product listing for this specific change pad cover carries OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification in its compliance data, going beyond the brand's own claim. Only one independent source carries this.

Ingredient Disclosure 91

The cover is disclosed as 100% organic cotton muslin exterior with polyester fill, a component-level breakdown for the two layers that make up the product.

Skin-Contact Safety Testing 78

No dermatological or skin-contact testing, named institute, or hypoallergenic rating is published for this cover anywhere we looked, beyond general softness claims in customer feedback.

Transparency & Support 84

The materials are described only in general terms ('all-natural, non-toxic materials, old-world techniques') rather than specific to this cover, and no warranty or repair route for the product is published beyond a generic damaged-shipment replacement process.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Reviewers like the added padding and safety-strap cutouts, saying it reduces stains and is thoughtfully designed.
Some customers mention the cover fits their change pad well.
Several reviewers say the cover washes well and holds up durably over time.

I love the feeling of this fabric! It’s super soft but also breathable. I really want more from this brand due to the feel of the fabric. I also love how it’s gender neutral.

The idea of a bit of padding on the changing pad is genius- way fewer stains on the changing pad underneath! The fabric is soft, organic cotton and the cutouts for the safety straps on the side are so thoughtful. I won’t go back to the thin, fitted sheet style and hope that they come out with more variety of patterns!
ellenk26
Very unique and organic this pad cover is. It is perfect to use on any change pad as a cover for it especially when changing a baby diaper. I love most how it is made with organic cotton and it doesn’t bother the baby skin. It also is soft for the baby and the change cover sheet is very easy to clean. It perfect for my child.
