A control check in the same corpus returned hundreds of records for children's categories such as cribs, strollers and toys, so the clean result reflects the brand's absence rather than a gap in coverage.

Makemake Organics holds a GOTS licence, IDFL 010673, issued by IDFL Laboratory and Institute, covering both its products and its facility, and this dress is sewn in a GOTS certified factory in India and marked IDFL 26390 on its own listing — two different codes (010673 for the brand licence and 26390 for the dress listing), with no explanation published of how they relate. Fair Trade and OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 are also named at brand level, and outside reviewers of the brand repeat the GOTS and OEKO-TEX claims.

The dress carries no formaldehyde, PFAS, phthalates, azo dyes or flame retardants, and the care guide asks for a cool iron rather than marketing any non-iron, wrinkle-resistant or stain-repellent finish; GOTS processing prohibits bleach and formaldehyde treatment across the chain. Outside reviewers of the brand report the same freedom from flame retardants and PFAS.

The care guidance is specific: machine wash on a gentle cycle, do not bleach, iron on cool, tumble dry on low and remove promptly, with mild plant-based detergent and wool dryer balls recommended instead of fabric softener. It stops short of the instruction that matters most for a new garment — there is no advice to wash the dress before first wear.
