CURATEIQ

TrustScore breakdown

89 /100

We take what's most important for a product to determine the TrustScore. Here's our research:

Ingredient Safety & Purity 95

USDA Organic and Oregon Tilth Certified Organic, Non-GMO Verified, and Leaping Bunny (cruelty-free) certified. Short, all-organic ingredient list (olive fruit oil, shea butter, beeswax, jojoba oil, lavender, peppermint, witch hazel, St. John's Wort, calendula, yarrow) with no petroleum, artificial fragrance, or artificial preservatives. Dermatologist tested for irritation. Minor deduction for including essential oils (lavender, peppermint) that are potential sensitizers for a subset of users despite being natural.

Application Effectiveness 90

Marketed for pregnancy discomfort, postpartum perineal recovery, and general irritation relief with a clear 2-3x daily application instruction; can be refrigerated for an added cooling effect. Strong, consistent customer testimony of fast-acting relief (e.g., 'Immediate relief and healing!', 'very cooling right away'), though there is no clinical trial data backing effectiveness claims, only anecdotal/review evidence.

Skin Comfort & Sensitivity 85

Dermatologist tested for irritation and explicitly marketed as safe for pregnant and postpartum women and all ages. Free of artificial fragrance and preservatives, which reduces common irritant exposure. Score held below 90 because the formula relies on essential oils (lavender, peppermint) for scent/cooling, which can still trigger sensitivity in a small percentage of users despite being naturally derived.

Value & Practicality 75

At the store price of $19.18 for a 2 oz jar (~$9.59/oz), this sits at the upper-mid range for organic-certified postpartum balms. Practicality is boosted by multi-use application (pregnancy, postpartum, general irritation) and the refrigeration option for enhanced relief, but the per-ounce cost is a step up from the listed site price of $16.99, which weighs down the pure value score.

User Satisfaction & Results 95

Exceptionally strong social proof: 4.84/5 average rating across 153 reviews. Reviewers describe it as a 'desert-island level product' for repeat/long-term use and report consistent, immediate relief, indicating high satisfaction and reliable perceived results.

Customer Stories

Sentiment Summary

Reviewers describe cooling relief as the main reason they recommend it, with many saying it helped after tearing, stitches or a difficult delivery.
Customers frequently mention using it for hemorrhoids and other irritation outside of postpartum recovery, and several say they keep a jar on hand for years.
The recurring complaint is the peppermint, with several reviewers describing an intense burning or stinging sensation on broken skin that made them stop using it.
A small number of reviewers raise ingredient questions, including one who was disappointed to find beeswax in a reformulated version and another who asked about St. John's Wort.

I unfortunately have some leftover hemorrhoids from my first birth. Now in my second pregnancy they have been bothering me more and more, especially when that third trimester constipation started kicking in 🙈 this balm is amazing. It actually has a lasting cooling effect and is so soothing. I was…

So good feeling! I started using this a couple weeks post partum and wish I had discovered this earlier. It feels very cooling right away and later on, it just seems to make that whole area feel better with less pain.

I loved this product along with the perineal spray, nipple balm, and belly butter after having my daughter in 2017, but its ongoing value to me has been in its amazing hemorrhoid relief. I keep one jar in my bathroom and one in my purse, and when the first finally went rancid after seven years I…

Not understanding the peppermint. I burned for 45 minutes after trying this for the first time and only used a tiny dab on my perineum. Burned baby burn. No thanks
Erin
Whoever decided that peppermint oil was a good idea in this is a sadist!!! This sh** burns so badly. I’m two weeks post partum and have tried it several different times hoping for different results but it’s just excruciating each time AND DOESNT WASH OFF. Never again!!!
