Skout Organic Discovery Sample Pack

Nothing describes the composition of the bar wrappers, cookie packaging, or box liner that contact these snacks before they're eaten, and we found no chemistry statement for any food-contact packaging material.

This pack contains the Chocolate Peanut Butter Kids Bar. An independent lab test of the Chocolate Peanut Butter Kids Bar, reported in October 2024, found 42 ppb cadmium, 10 ppb lead and 6 ppb arsenic, with mercury not detected; cadmium and lead were above the action levels proposed in the 2021 Baby Food Safety Act. No recall or regulator action followed. Packs shipped to California also carry a Proposition 65 warning for lead.

The kids bars and protein bars in this pack carry 0 g added sugar and are sweetened only with organic dates and fruit, apart from the Cookie Dough bar's under 1 g of coconut sugar; the cookies are sweetened with organic coconut sugar, dates and maple syrup, all named.

Major allergens are declared per flavor (peanuts, coconut where present), and Skout states specifically that its bars are processed in a facility that also handles gluten, dairy, grain, soy, wheat and eggs, with a described cleaning process between runs, rather than a blanket disclaimer.

Skout states shelf life (12 months for bars, 9 months for cookies) and storage guidance (cool, dry, pantry-stable, no refrigeration needed), but gives no opened-pack window or heat-exposure guidance for the individually wrapped bars.

Each flavor's full ingredient list is published, and the organic claim is scoped to the finished product under a named certifier, USDA Organic via Oregon Tilth, covering the entire catalog rather than a single ingredient.

No recall naming Skout Organic appears in the FDA food recall and enforcement database, which covers reports from June 2012 to October 2026, and the same search does return other snack-bar recalls, so this is a clean record rather than a missed search.

Skout names four finished-product certifications - USDA Organic (Oregon Tilth), Vegan (Vegan.org), Gluten-Free (GFCO), and Plastic Neutral (RePurpose Global) - applied across the whole catalog, with no registry number published for any of them.

Full ingredient lists are published per flavor, and the manufacturing facility is disclosed as shared with gluten, dairy, soy, grain, wheat and egg lines. The country of manufacture and any product warranty beyond a quality-assurance mention are not published.

Suitable, under adult supervision, for children over one who eat solid foods; the bars are about 60-70% dates, which keeps them soft and easy to chew. The Almond Cookie and Cookie Dough bars list almonds and cashews without saying how finely they are ground, and no age is given for the cookies or protein bars.
